Issues with Pro MIX HP-CC

Hello all, having some PH issues with HP-CC. I'm not sure what to PH my water at.

I tried around 6.7 initially... the plants dont look horrible however I am seeing signs of deficiencies/lockout already. I just flushed them with RO water.

Does anyone know what to PH this soilless mix at? ProMIX says just water and the soil will PH itself... yeah I've read threads on this and its true for about 2-3 waterings... lol. I've also read threads on HP-CC and cannot seem to find a definite answer.

I am thinking 5.8 PH and have been the whole time. There is not a LOT of CC in the mix, however I've been told by someone to PH at 5.8... just not sure.

Anyone? Experience with HP-CC?

If you are using pH up then thats probably your issue. Its most likely causing sodium build up in the medium. I use HP-CC with 7.8 pH well water. Never have any issues. pH up and down are meany for fish tanks and full hydro grows. They are not designed to be used in soil.

It is soiless though, and most likely using salt based nutes;-)
I ph my coco grows to 6.0. Same with my promix grows, but maybe a tad higher sometimes. Guess what I ph my nutes to in those peat+coco based grows? :-D

It has coco but is still peat based. Peat has an initial pH of 4.0-5.0. Do not pH treat water either up or down. As the peat decomposes it will adjust the pH on its own.

I've ph'd my ingoing nutes with peat based soiless mixes for more than 20 yrs now. Same with every single person I know. Works great!
Usually there is dolomite in a peat based. That can and does get depleted if plant is grown long enough though. That is where problems come from IMO

The keyword in your statement is 20years. I am advising a newbie or less experienced grower. My advice then is always related to KISS. They get so wrapped up in minutiae and little crap they don't really watch the plant and see the changes when they alter their routines.
 
In short you can grow good pot without ever adjusting the pH in most cases with soils or even most soil mixes. With one hell of a lot less fertilizers too.

I've been growing in this medium and sunshine for years...6.3-6.5 is perfect 6.5 has always been the sweet spot
 
I do not see a picture of your plant therefore I cannot comment on any of your issues. So from what I gather pro mix is peat based and has no nutritional value or very little by default. What are you feeding them? How much and how often,? Let's start there and see if that's where the problem is starting.
 
A PH of 6.5 or higher will start to deplete important metals such as copper. once you get over 7.5 you lose all your metals that are important. go on YouTube and watch harley smiths guide for RAW. or take the free classes at growuniversity.com you will learn a lot. When growing with coco or peatMoss you need to run a calmag as well.always keep your ph between 5.6 an 6.3 at the most
 
Seaweed extracts are best as foliar sprays as they incorporate tighter internodel growth when used with fulvic acid. also Virginia Tech did a study that shows that 5 parts humic acid and 2 parts kelp works 50% better than either two alone
 
One more thing you need more potassium from weeks 4 -8 of flower. potassium is not immediately available to plants so it needs more of it. that's why plants stall. Stuff likearly MOAB is crap because it givesseems you too much phosphorus which is only needed in early flower as to provide energy to the plant to promote early flowering as well as more flowering sites...always use much more potassium at the end of flower. plus a high potassium to nitrate ratio raises your brix which will make mold and insects irrelevant. it also improveseems quantity and yield
