Is topping worth it?

Hey all, title kind of says it all. I am getting ready to start my first grow with official equipment. (First ever grow was low investment closet grow with bagseed) I have a 2x4 tent and feminized seeds from North atlantic seed Bank. I am planning on lst all my plants as I have the free time and enjoy fiddling with them. My main question is, is topping and lst going to yield that much more than if I just lst my plants? Thanks!

Lst can produce the same amount of budding sites. Topping just forces all the lower nodes to start pushing out faster forcing the bush up and eliminates the need to always be bending your tops over. The more nodes you can get into the light the more buds you'll grow.

Whichever one or both you do, just try to keep an even canopy height and fill about 75% od the footprint before you flip to flower. Using a trellis net helps. It makes a big difference to get the canopy height filled and even.

I have a question. I have seen these pics of grow tents with fans blowing directly on the plant canopy but have read not to have fan blow directly on the plants. Which is best?

Damn that plant looks great! I lst my closet grow and was able to keep the canopy pretty even with just ties, but I got a trellis net with my tent so I was planning on using that near the end of veg to help even out the canopy before flipping. What size tent is that? I watched a video of a guy growing 3 good sized plants in a 2x4 and was thinking of doing 2 or 3. But if I can get my plants like that maybe one will be fine lol!

Not necessarily imo. 2x4 should fill out fine with ethier. Lst is probably the way to go with scrog. 2x4 is 2 plants imo
Appreciate the tip! I was planning on doing 2 or 3 and using a net to maximize space, they are fast flowering (7 week) strains. You think 3 would be overcrowded?

Imo yes, kinda depends how fast your going to flip. But if your going to lst and scrog id say 2 imo

You can do more small plants or a single big plant
You veg as long as needed, like mentioned the canopy being as even as possible is the
Key. Light=weight

I'm not a master grower myself, but in nature cannabis is a wind-pollinated plant; it would make sense that airflow along the flowering sites improves the flowering response from the plant.

I have a question you may be able to answer. I am a new grower of cannibus but long time garden grower. My problem has been over watering and stunting my auto flowers during early vegging. I am trying to get a base idea on how much water to give them week by week.

Well what I read mentioned concerns about wind burn.
If you notice wind burn reduce your fan speed or move it further from the plants showing wind burn, but I don't think there's an inherent problem pointing it towards the colas

That's a 3x3 tent with a SUNRAISE qb2000 200w LED.

I top almost all and LST with more severe discipline at times. Topping in veg will set development back a few days bu then, look out.
More light to more buds
