Ultimately the genetics does determine how much THC it can produce. it is up to you to make it live up to its genetic potential.

UV light in the correct spectrum is supposed to help produce THC, as it is a byproduct of some metabolite (or something, I forget the entire pathway) which is meant as a sort of sunscreen for the developing calyx.

look up UV + marijuana on youtube...there is some dude on there giving a tutorial about it. he's obviously high, and kind of long winded...but he's got some good info on there.

^ agreed thc is in the genetics. the only thing we manipulate by nutes or lights or whatever is the ability to bring out it`s full potential.

the best things for a good yield are good care and environment. like water, lights, temps, humidity, and so on. nutes help it grow healthy and possibly bigger nugs, but it would be like us taking vitamins and supplements and not getting exercise, it wont work. read about macro and micro nutes. when plants need certain ellements to grow better.
