Is it worth getting a digital HID ballast?

can you describe the lead that was melted? was this on the end of the bulb?

Dear hobbyist,

Check the grounding (green or bare copper wire connects to the ballast housing. Leaving these ungrounded makes too much THD (true harmonic distortion) that rapidly degrades elecricial functioning.
