sorry I know this thread is a little old but this may be useful to someone. I have been an IT security professional for many years, and I just use firefox 2 and the tor proxy network when I'm paranoid about something. It routes your traffic through a series of encrypted proxy servers and is the most secure way I know of to post anonymously. it slows things down alot however. As far as posting here I don't think you need to worry unless you're growing 20,000 plants or something...

Just get rid of the geocoding on your photos and you should be fine, whether or not you're in a legal state.
However, my advice is to avoid posting any photos or even taking any if you are in an illegal state. Let the cops gather their own damn evidence!
Realistically though, growing isn't the same as what it was even 10 years ago. Even in states where growing is illegal, 99% of the time you will have zero issues if you abide by the rules you see everyone going on about.
1) Tell no one.
2) Tell no one.
3) Be the ideal neighbor
4) Don't do anything illegal while involved with something illegal.
5) Tell no one.
As someone before pointed out, most grows are busted because of a nasty break up or a pissed off neighbor. Occasionally a "friend" will fuck you, but more often than not it's a pissed ex or a pissed neighbor. Don't say a word to anyone, you have no friends when you grow weed. Be the perfect neighbor, you don't have to go too far out of your way, just don't be noisy, wave upon making eye contact, and be considerate.
Cops don't really give a shit about people growing anymore. You'd have to be in a very small town and have a bunch of very bored cops, otherwise you likely won't see any problems if you aren't causing any.
In my experience, you should be more concerned about rippers than cops. Stay safe OP.
