is flowering time calculated ....

I count flowering as my switch to 12/12.

But I also add weeks to flowering times.

Most flowering times are based on near perfect conditions with optimum Co2 levels and good feeding regime. Not only that but its only an indication of the EARLIEST possible harvest time.

For 8week strains I tend to allow 10 weeks from switching to 12/12.

I always grow plants until they are done. Not by a timing given by breeders.

Thx. I'm at the nerve wracking time in flowering (5 weeks) where I'm contemplating yield....

Hope for the best, but expect the worst.

I think of a successful grow yield of 0.5g per watt of light that I use.

I regularly exceed that though at around 1-1.2g.

Assume you will get half of your lights wattage.

250w - 125g
400w - 200g
600w - 300g
1000w - 500g

I'd be happy with those numbers.

Anything more is a bonus.

sorry for being a bit of a dick, i am just not a weed nerd to say the least.. :D
Lol.

Same here.

Its actually quite surprising that ALOT of the freebie seeds I get with orders turn out being better than the ordered seeds.

Delicious seeds fruity chronic juice is a prime example. It was a freebie that I grew and cloned. Used the clones in my room and it turns out to be some of the best smoke I've EVER HAD!

So I know fuck all about geaneology lol.

Needless to say I bought a 5pack of them for when my current cheese grow is finished. Lol.

I know this is a very common question but do you find the buds put on alot of weight in the last 3 weeks?

I count from switch to 12/12. counting days is just an estimate don't count on counting, harvest when they are ready not by how long it's been
lol, pretty much... i'm also a weed nerd, just not a fan of subcool, so now i hate that term, even if i am one.. :D

whats stated on the breeders pack are the general guidelines.... they count from day one of 12/12

the buds tell you when they are done by the looks and smell :)

For years I counted from day 14 of 12/12.... you know after onset (the stretch) when i could see the beginings of the bud......telling people im 2 weeks into flower my bud is pinky size :)

Yes. Especially because I don't flush. I feed right up until harvest.

Buds really fatten up after week 5.

On a 9 week flower time I see the biggest amount of swell in the buds during weeks 6-8. Week 9 is generally a week to watch for ripeness.

very true, but everyone forgets the transition period. They can count 12/12 from day one, because they spent the last week transitioning into a 12/12 cycle.

No there is no transition period from 24/7 light to the 12/12 light....thats happens overnight...

one day your 24... the next day your 12/12..... there is no everday for a week a little less light :)

Growing by the book, There's supposed to be a transition period coming out of veg to flower. Either way you pay for that week. One ways more natural and less stressful on the plant than the other. Either way it takes so many days for the plant to transition from veg to flower, and start to grow pistils.

bout 8 or 10 years ago I did was exparimenting with transitioning where 2 weeks before flower I switched to hps and started feeding bloom nutes and 1 week before flowering I transitioned the time down to 12/12 and if I remember correctly it was a waste of time... It did seem to speed up the transition but not a lot maybe by a couple days, it was not worth the trouble

I does seem that the last weeks are for swelling.

Good luck OP,

I agree, there's better ways to make your plant go into flower. One of my friends turned me on to BushMaster. I can get her to go into flower in just 4 days, it really puts the brakes on elongation. I tried transitioning a few times to. I wasn't impressed.
