i have some lowryder #2 x ak 47s going while they look pretty at 12" and half flowered they are a joke compared to these plants. but i guess every plant has its home. some people need the smaller ones i guess. but i really like these iranians. bugs seem to leave them alone compared to some of my plants out this year. this years looser for bugs is hymalayan gold bugs love them, but they are still doing fine with some care. but these iranians are mostly untouched. very nice.

So what type of conditions would you suggest to grow these in? I was following a Purple Jem autoflower grow. I think the breeder is reserva privada anyways that only grew to be 14 inches and yielded probably 1 or 2 ounces. Are these bigger? Do they yield more? How are they doing outside? Could i grow them inside then transplant outside later? Sorry about the questions , thanks for the answers: D .

these plants i grew indoors under 24h untill they were about 12"-18" tall then put them outdoors. they started flowering in a week and half. stretched quite a bit but filled in. ive got them in raised beds growing in sunshine mix #1,homemade compost, and being fed earth juice very lightly they do not like nitrogen very much at all. they are very sensitive to it. i usually use mex bat guano but skipped it with these. they do like phosporus spl? and are budding nicely. they willstart to bud when you put them out under anything but 24h 7 and you can get them quite big this is my first gow of them but ive 4 more that ive learned my lessons and will produce quite a bit more. i believe i can pull 8 ozs of the largest easily and nothing less than 4 on the rest. maybe the pics dont do them justice. but i was sceptical about growing autos i got these and lowryder#2 x ak 47 this year the lrxak are a joke compared to these ill post pics if you want. they are also blooming all 12" of them. cute but a joke i recomend them for kids. but yes grow them indoors untill 12"-18" then put out they will stretch then fill in nicely. the biggest is about 3' and full of bud. i started these late and they are worth the limited effort i put into them. doc sent me 11 seeds to try. you can call him and ask anything he has the best customer service ive ever dealt with in 18 years of growing. not all 18 i was buying seeds mind you but ive dealt with mark emery, heavens stairway, legends, seeds direct(bullshit),seedbotique(also bullshit owned by same guy),attitude, and hemp depot.and the doc. they have always sent seeds but doc will give you help over the phone and go the extra mile to help you out. ive seen lots of autos on the net and a few around here with friends and my lrxak47s these take a little longer but are much better. i would go with them you wont be disappointed. sorry to ramble ive got a good buzz and had a good night just got home from seeing bobby and phil from the dead. if you need more info id be glad to help.

Sodalite ,

I really appreciate you taking your time to write that detailed response. It helped a lot. I had this idea in my head that most autoflowers would share similar phenotypes. Am i right to think that like sativas and indicas , ruderalis also has different traits for each strain? I also thought that even under 24 hours of light , autoflowers would still flower. Incorrect? Maybe thats another phenotype to be kept in mind when picking out strains.

Another quick question. Say i wanted to grow " a few extra " out in the woods. Does outdoor growing take care of itself or is it just as time consuming as indoor?

thanks again for all your help! i + repped you! and im subbed of course!

What type of lighting were you using when they were inside under 24 hour light?

Thanks for posting your grow journal on these Iranian Short Season.

sorry wesmokedro i havent been around much to see your last question. im not entirely certain what you meant by growing a few extra out in the woods. with these iranians it would be best to start them indoors untill they get to a nice height 18" i would say is perfect. then put them outside and they would start blooming within a week or so. if you started them outdoors they would start blooming to quickly and you would end up with smaller plants in afraid. in that case they wouldnt have much advantage over regular autos. ive some regular autos growing right now and they are about a foot tall and wont produce jack.and they were started indoors but started blooming in 12 days.that sucks. iranians have the advantage becouse they will not bloom under 24h light. i hope that helps some.
digging- i had the first ones ive been posting pics of under 2 x 200 watt cfl 5000k spectrum. ive 4 more outdoors now ill post some pics of they were under 400 wt mh for about the same amount of time. not being air cooled the cfls worked just as good since i could get the tops half inch below them with fans.
ill post some updates this week i checked them today and they are doing better than i expected didnt bring camera bummer. but i also planted 4 more that i had vegging that are doing great all about 16"-18". they should start to bloom soon and beat any cold weather.
the other autos i was talking about will maybe produce 40 gms but they are 2 weeks from being done and im already picking grey mold from them under perfect conditions. its been dry here. iranians kick their ass.

Wow, I've been thinking about ordering some of these beans; been seeing them in HT but put them on the wish list for next year. I didn't know if they were hype or not; you know how that goes. I am really happy to see they are really everything the ad said. I did learn one little nugget at the beginning of the thread and that is that autos are very sensitive to stress. I did my first auto grow last year and I had some that didn't make it over 3". This year was a lot better but there was only a couple that were even remotely impressive. I gotta get some of these for sure. I am really curious as to the smoke. Any idea how that's gonna go? BTW, +rep for the great grow!!

i was so wanting to take a branch down today and dry it this week but i didnt, only cause ive got freshies and some vintage 09 still. so i can not say how the smoke is but i can say they smell like heaven and have some wicked tight buds on them. there is varyation in all the plants but not enough to be totaly unalike one another. my photos suck butthey are covered in trics and will be an easy plant to trim. yes with these plants they do not like nitrogen very much i would recomend giving them grow nutes at like 1/10th stenght. thats for real. but ive been giving them plenty of earth juice bloom juice and they like it well enough. i would wager the smoke will be great. ill definitly be cutting one or two of them next week. ive also got two more in a differant location that are almost ready. and 4 more just starting to bloom. so ill let you know pretty soon. if i would have cut a branch today i would have been cheating myself they could use a little more time.

Oh yeah, leave them babies til they are ready! I'm actually in the process of emailing the doc right now. I gotta have some of those. That would be the perfect plant for indoor grows. I have just a tad more stash from 09 and then I'll have this years autos. Out of the 20 or so plants I've harvested this year none of them rate over about 4 on the richter scale. But I have hope for my full-season plants. That is amazing that your leaves are that lush and green and yet they don't like N much. But I will absolutely keep your advice in mind. Each strain can vary a lot. Thanks again for sharing!
