Input on when to switch to flower....

It's a few days shy of the 2nd month of my babies. The plants came from bagseed, so I'm not sure the exact strain. They're under CFL's, and plenty of them. I'm not really stressed for space either, so I don't mind how big they get. Basically I was just wondering when a good time to switch to 12/12. This is my first grow, and since most of the plants outside got destroyed my slugs, I want to make sure It's not harmful to keep these indoor plants vegging longer... a lot of posts say differing opinions, so here's so pics, any help would be appreciated...

Thanks again

.. I'd say both are about 2-2.5' from soil to top. The first 3 pictures are from a few days ago, while the last one is a week or so old. It has grown even bushier and the drooping leaves have filled back out....

Hey Jrut. I'm a noob too so I will leave the opinions to the experts. I will say though, in my experience with other types of growing, there is a point of diminishing returns, either via quality and/or quantity. Nice light by the way, I have 2 of the same ones. The Target right? I never thought of them as grow lights... hmmm.

Good luck man! They look great!!

Thanks for the input. I figure I'll switch from 18/6 to 12/12 after today, especially if they'll grow such a substantial amount after the switch.

On a side note, would I see better results if I swapped all of my daylight CFLs for soft white, or is a mixture of the two okay to give both 2700 and 6500K? Buying new bulbs isn't a problem if that's what best, I just wanted to hear some opinions.

@ForumToker - Yeah that was from Target. It's the weakest of the lights, but I had it laying around so I thought I'd use it as some filler

Thanks again

Those are beautiful indicas(my wild guess) you have there bro, clone one and start the flowering phase. Don't worry about height, they won't grow that much if they are indicas. Don't forget to clone some before going into flowering.Peace!

Thanks man. I definitely want to clone these since they were so nice and easy to maintain inside. Do I have to take my clone cut before I induce 12/12? I was at http://www.weedsthatplease.com/cloning.htm , and read that "The following process can be used to reproduce (clone) a female marijuana plant once it has already been moved to the flowering (12/12) cycle and is determined to be female. " So is it alright to wait til I see signs of the sex? I still need the time to run out and pickup root gel, so I may have to hold off on switching to 12/12 til then.

Again, I'm on my first grow and just now switching over the 12/12 tonight! Yaayyy! But anyway, after much reading, I am going with a 4/1 mix of 2700k to 6500k and throwing in a UVB light at week 6/7 of flowering to top it all off.

That awesome man, congrats! Hope you see some nice buds soon! 4/1 sounds like a plan to me. I hadn't heard much about mixing a UVB light in, but after doing some quick research that sounds pretty sweet. I've got a florescent fixture w/ 2 tubes over the plants, so I'll have to pick up two of those reptile bulbs to fit it. I guess that would be the right light for UVB, unless I can find one that fits in one of the clamp lights?
Or what if I kept one of the long flouro tubes that I have in now, and also put in a UVB to replace the 2nd. I saw you said you're gonna do it the 6/7 week of flowering, is it bad to do it before then, or even the entire length of flowering?

The only thing I can find for sure about UVB is there is no conclusive evidence regarding when, how, how much, how long, etc. The only thing that is difinitive is that it does play a key roll in trichome development and indoor grows do benifit. We need someone to do some controlled testing!

I'm gonna use just one of those 24" tube 10% reptile lights on three girls with 2x 24w 6500k and 8x 40w 2700k for 12 hours a day from directly above. 2 would probably be too much for me, but I started flower at 18" as opposed to your monsters! You may be better off with two like you said, but maybe spread out a bit? Again, just opinion.

I'm gonna follow your grow closely. It seems as though you and I are very much on the same page and plan. Expcept of course the size difference.

The last day has been weird for me since I'm giving them 30 hours complete darkness. It's the longest I've gone without checking on them in 6 weeks. Crazy!

Again, good luck man!!!
