the Qrazy Train:
IMAG0247.jpgIMAG0246.jpgIMAG0245.jpgIMAG0248.jpg
yes, she's still hanging. the wife plans to have her trimmed up over the next 2 days. she prefers to trim the herb once it's more dried than not. the end result is very smooth and flavorful,. and so works for us... when the QT is all trimmed up, i'll post prettier pics of her, like the White Rhino pics below...

IMAG0252.jpgIMAG0250.jpgIMAG0249.jpg

the Rhino gave up a little over 6 ounces of dried tops and 3 ounces of trim which included the lower buds that goes to bho production. one of 2 plants under a LightRail'd 420-PAR.

the Blueberry is still getting trimmed up too, no final weight on her yet but that and the QT total are soon to come.

gotta get running now tho ~ gotta make it to Burgerville before they close!

:peace:

Nice looking plants spliff! Beautiful. I bet that's all going to smoke very nicely, especially that qrazy, shit looks.... Crazy haha. You run CO2 in your room? Also on the topic of my light choice. What would you think about a 420par Along with a couple of led panels to compliment? ( possibly on a rotating pulley that circles around the room, to eliminate variation from the led and indagro on just a select plant). I'd love to know your thoughts. I'm definitely going to be running CO2 with my inda too. Just adding my final touches to my grow room gameplan and blue prints and I'll be in business.
heya Toker!

no, i don't use CO2 in my grow, yet. i know i want to eventually, but for now the budget is what limits...

as for adding in a different light source, there's no reason why not to try the LEDs as well. more spectral diversity in the room should benefit the plants vs less, imo. as for the light mover, i swear by it. no particular brand has my votes, just make sure the lights move.

Nice job spliff and others , you have convinced me to purchase a few Par420's this week .. I sell them at the store I help manage and before seeing the grow journals here I was skeptic .. I have a 1000 watt Halide that I plan to replace with the two .. Might even purchase another 5 units before next summers heat wave ..Again Nice Grow and show !
heya Prof~ thanks for the kind words!

i can't wait to see your room when you get your 420s!

if i get you right, you'r gonna replace the veg 1000MH with 2 420PARs? damn, if that's correct your veg is gonna straight transform... watch out for plants overcrowding as they get much bigger much faster. you will see a need for shorter veg times or larger bloom facilities.

then +5 by summer... NICE! that'll kill it for sure. i know that you'll love em! especially if you go ahead and bloom with them too

your BCD looks really nice spliff ... I am growing BCD right now (Jordan of the island?) and they(2 of them) are 12/12 from seeds in the same container... they are not going to be big because they dont like 12/12 from seed but they are beer can size buds already and so frosty ... with the pink too!

Anyway ... I am hoping for a female now because I wouldnt mind trying this strain with some veg time.

looks good in your garden.

Omg i had to check my pants after looking at those high res bud pics. Talk about infestation of trichomes!! Yum yum yum. Thanks for the input on the lights too.. Any personal suggestions as far as led panels go? Brand suggestions? Maybe models? I'm going to do some thorough reading, but your advise has yet to fail me. Keep up the good, wait. AMAZING buds and grow. Stay high

Wow, nice thread guys! Finally caught up reading all of the pages (I haate having to wait for updates now).

Spliff - Really nice grow, you're one of the best growers (probably the best) I've had the pleasure of finding on RUI using the IG420pros and growing seriously beautiful plants.

If possible would you be able to share what your method for ferts (Was it almost full canna line + Massive?) I'm quite interested in organic/sustainable growing...
Oh! What foilar sprays do you use too..

Also do you make your own soil? I was thinking of running with Supercool's Super Soil mix - Have you heard/read about this variant? (when I have another spare moment I'll try and find a like)

I'm debating between a 200watt and a 420watt, mainly because this still has to be pretty stealthish and the 420 requires either a 1m long box or a 1m high box.
It's a shame they don't/can't produce a 420watt variant into a smaller/shorter tube if they did I'd buy it in an instant.

So running with that thought process I'd probably grab the 200watt and run either 2-4 x deep red T5's or LED's (I think this would be too expensive and possibly hit and miss) in a vertical setup w/ organic nutes and airpots.

I'm curious what your answer is to TokerDey's question is as well...

Sorry about all the questions, I've waited about 2-4weeks to finally type a comment in this thread so I have had plenty of time to think them up.

Good luck growing, I can't wait to hear what the end weight was on the Blueberry and QT...

Cheers!

Can I just say thank you, and congrats to all the helpful people in this thread.

I'm a patient in a legal state, and I'm working towards my own growing. I liked the idea of LED for a long time, and talked to a number of people in CO about it ... but all the big time growers didn't like the investment vs quick profit. It has improved in the last two years (since I left CO), but I still didn't feel it was adequate. I prefer the idea of full spectrum, and I'm a nerd for anything Tesla was involved in. I found IndaGro through the internet, and have now read through this entire thread, plus plenty more. This is my first post here. I'm an avid forum-goer, but in the world of cars, computers, food, etc. You guys are the reason/s progress is made, keep up the great work.
I REALLY do not like the HID market and I seriously doubt I'll buy into their traps. I know results speak louder than words, but when you can provide the same quality for less, I get excited. I've played around with ideas of every type of growing medium, and considered all the lighting options, I really think the IG's are for me. When I drop the cash and get everything set up, you will know for sure. Until then, I'll continue to fly under the radar (for the most part), but I couldn't read 90+ pages and not say thanks.

Spliff, did that Oregon Licorice finish out? I might have skimmed past it, but I have read through 97 pages in two sittings. All of them look great, but I'm captivated by that one for some reason. Did that one start from seed? Supplier?

I'm looking to build a small cabinet(<10sq ft, 45-50cu ft) since most tents won't suit my needs, but I'd like to run the 200PAR start to finish, and a hybrid DWC/soilless setup. Only exception would be that I'm considering a Kessil bloom LED as an add-on, but that's still up in the air.
I haven't seen it elsewhere yet, but has anybody used a IG with the Orca film/lining instead of the normal Mylar/foil lining?

greetings, dj! after reading all the thread up to this point, in 2 sittings no less, i'm very glad that you decided to say high! i'm happy to have been able to provide you a means of information that will be able to help you out in your future ventures.

as for the Oregon Licorice, i'm presently blooming my 3rd one, and she's kicking ass at day 13. the first one was on Canna Bio Flores, PK 13/14, Boost, Rhizo tonic, and Cannazym. she was 7.5 ounces dry at the end. her aroma was very mild and incensey and she had a balanced high. i liked her, but was overall left feeling that she hadn't lived up to her potential. the 2nd one got Bio Flores, but instead of PK13/14 got Crystal Burst and Snow Storm Ultra from Humboldt County's Own, and didn't get Boost cuz i couldn't afford it and also sorta wanted to see what happens without it, if it's worth the $125/L that the local shop charges for it. she came up substantially lighter than the first one, but smelled and tasted A LOT better, and was more potent. the one i'm running now is getting House and Garden, full line but currently only on the A+B, Roots Excelurater, Amino Treatment, Drip Clean, and Multi Zen. for later in the cycle she will be getting Top Shooter, Bud-XL, and Shooting Powder, all according to their 10 week feed schedule. i've also opted to run one of my current White Fires on that mix with the other (twin) WF on the Canna-based mix described in regards to the 2nd Licorice, but am using Massive from Green Planet instead of Boost cuz that bitch is still too spendy and i'm not totally sold on it's worth; and the Blue City Diesel that is now on day 4 is also getting the same Canna/Humboldt/Massive mix. one thing that i gotta say, is that i am really eager to see the end of the current run as the Canna diet utilizes a PK booster at the onset of bud, and the HG diet doesn't add to the base til the half way point. i figure that i'll be able to see all the way thru if PK boosters are on point or not... as for where the genetics are from, i got her in Feb of this year, as a clone, from a friend. i understand that it's a strain that originates from Purple Afghani and Durban Poison, but was bred in Oregon.

oh, a side note... i transplanted my 4 Qrazy Trains from 1 gal to 3 gal an hour ago... damn i can't wait to get them all into bloom... thinking of a 4way nute test... maybe Canna vs House & Garden vs Supernatural vs home brewed tea (no AN cuz fuck AN).

i have had the notion of wanting to take a plant full term under a 200PAR, but haven't been able to get other necessities lined up to be able to so that... if that's what you end up doing, you're gonna have to keep us posted, well.. at least me

oh ya.. that Orca film... haven't used it or heard of it before... i did find a vid from them on YouTube where they do a vs mylar, and all i was thinking was "ya i can see a difference, but plants don't have eyes, so why not try to make the comparison in terms of how plants perceive the difference?" they should just toss plants in and see over time. but... i will say that the first time i grew, i used a 150w HPS in a small cabinet, and i spray painted the inside of the box and the hood with flat white. worked just fine, but no idea if it was better than not having done that.

anyhew.. .i'm no doubt rambling... and i gotta get back to watering them thirsty bitches.. i mean ladies...

ttfn everyone!

Heya Millsie! thanks so much for the flattering words! i honestly figure myself to be far from the best, as i know how much more i still want to learn on the topics of horticulture, but if my plants are able to give people that impression, then.. well.. woot!

i went ahead and included a lot of my nute info in the post above because it both applied to the differences in finishes on the various OL's, but also allowed me to save typing time in the long run ;)

for soil, i use Happy Frog soil, and amend it with pumice, alfalfa meal, and kelp meal. i've thought of using a "supersoil", but i like a more hands on feel to my plants. for foliars, in veg, i use Nuke Em as a preventative against mites n PM. i use nothing in bloom, as i will not tolerate any residue in my BHO, which all of my trim goes to. part of that is making sure the plants are clean going in and stay clean throughout, also redundant HEPA filters mean no PM there. i have played in the past with foliars, but honestly i prefer to keep the plants as clean as possible.

my $0.02 on smart pots is that they are nice in F&D hydro when filled with soilless media - like coir, but soil...? not my cup of tea.

and my advice/input on LEDs is "don't use them as the primary light source in the grow." they are decent in making up for what the main light may lack, or for modulating certain photosynthetic pigments when you are past the basics and really wanna start pushing the limits of manipulating the light the plants get (ie: the 730nm flower initiator), but the typical LED approach of red/blue is only hitting chlorophyll a and b, and doing nothing for all of the other pigments the plant makes and gets energy from when they get stimulated too. also, no LEDs emit UV-b, which our plants really like. and newer LEDs are starting to use white diodes... perhaps us broad spectrum guys are on to something

as for the BB and QT weights, that will be coming soon... they are both almost done in trim and will very soon all be in jars. stay posted...

ahh... finally done in the rooms. and sorry i missed this in the earlier round of replies. :joint:

my BCD came from a friend in clone form. he didn't mention the pink pistils, but then again, he seemed very reluctant to part with them... they were "reparations" for a previous clone i had gotten from him (a Blueberry White Widow cross called Berry White - for reference it's the BBWW from my initial grow posted in this thread, if anyone wanted to trudge back there to find it, or if a newcomer had a fresh enough recollection of it to be able to snipe it out of the back pages with ease...), and subsequently vegged several months, that turned out to be full on male when it went into bloom. he swore up and down that the source of the clone was a female, and that he had recently harvested her... i've heard of Spontaneous Sexual Reversal since then, and have been upset at myself since as i axed it in a knee-jerk reaction when it had a full body-set of male flowers. i shoulda dealt with "shim" until i could have collected some viable pollen from it as i have since been playing with breeding and that plant had some really amazing traits. oh well... we live, we learn...

anyways.. the BCD... the one i have is a very temperamental bitch. she likes to stress at the drop of a hat, and if i let her sit in a container too long, really tosses a root-bound fit. all my other strains have zero special needs in comparison, but we'll see what happens with my newest one of her in veg; so far she's taken to her 1gal and has moved into it nicely over the past couple weeks. still keeping a keen vigil on her. it's groovy that yours have pink pistils too, especially if it's the both of them, and that they were both from seed. as far as i've heard on the local circuit, theres 2 BCD phenos around here; one with pink pistils and one with white ones. perhaps that breeder has a lock on that trait...? regardless, i hope you get another female too, with pinks again. and ya, please do veg her out! i'd love to see it!

thanks again!

:peace:

Hang on, Bro..... I ordered my first Par420 and then within days ordered a Par100 for cloning and early veg. Then as soon as I got it, I called them right away to go to work for the company. These lamps are THAT great..... you'll never regret spending what they cost, you win on all counts! I'm in NW US..... let us know how you do with IG....!

so here it is. Right now the tent is full with 3 kandy kush 2 of which are at week 9 and one at week 7, a jack herrer at week 4 an ak48 at week 4 and a white widow at week 6. New features in the tent include a light mover and 7 gal pots for everything which really seemed to make a big difference. The IG is doing its thing as always and I am stoked to see how much better I get a year from now using it because every grow seems to get better. Happy growing everyone!
