In-line fan set ups

That's to keep the pre filter stuck to the sides. If you didn't get a fluffy white fabric filter.

Throw that plastic away or save for projects.

I have a 4” inline sucking outside air through a hood and exhausting out side.
then I have a 6” inline sucking air from in the tent and exhausting out side.

use to have a carbon filter in the tent on the 6” line. But haven’t used one in over a year.

both fans are out of tent and in a sound dampening box

I cut the pre filter that comes with the main filter. I use the pre filter on the grow room door intake. The inline blower vacuums the room. Pushes the air into the carbon filter. Which resides outside the grow room.

I use a vortex 6" blower. Reduced up, going into a huge 8" filter that's 4 feet long. Overkill. I can NOT have it smelling. No negotiation. It can't fucking stink. Period.
Is there anyway I can get a pic of your setup? I need zero smell…

Then a good carbon filter with your exhaust fan...but not set too high (so the carbon has time to pull the odor out of the air it's filtering) will work. You want some negative pressure in your tent at all times. I find an intake fan that's also on helps too.

I have a 10x10 room. I have an 8” fan. I can smell it outside. Not good!!! That’s with the fan all the way down. Less smell with my 4” fan.. lol

I have dual 6" fans. If it's not loose connections in your ducting, bring your fans up. Mine only smells when the air is 'standing'...aka when my fans ratchet down to their lowest or off setting (I use a Cloudline T6 with auto controller), or when there's positive pressure in the tent from my intake pushing too hard. I'm going to be upgrading my controller to one of the new 67's where you can have a default lower fan setting instead of off when you hit your temp/humidity triggers to take care of any smell. When I run my T6 (exhaust) at 5-10 there's no smell. Outside the window where my exhaust vents there's no smell.

I've also heard of some running another fan/filter in the room that just free-stands to scrub the air further than just an inline on the exhaust.

I have my fan and filter just scrubbing. 30 min almost no smell in room. Zero smell outside. My brother is coming over tomorrow to help me have my big one from the ceiling. I hope that helps once and for all.. I’m not trying to run two lights four fans ac .. Ect.Ect But I’m learning and this is the process.. I will have my room running like clock work soon.. (I hope!)

Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it!!!!!!!
