I’m starting my plants indoors. What should my light schedule be before I move them outside?

Yeah that time of low sixtys and a few days of 50s in second week of June as day time high night time lows in the 40s. Previously it was mid to high 90s, then next morning 60s and 50s for a full week. Surprised a lot of growers as we were so close to solstice. I had a few in every garden to dig up and replace. Not strain specific in preflowering. It wasn't just a hair at the node. But full on top getting bunchy and tight forming that paintbrush of hairs look. I repotted the ones dug up and just put them in dep. Other growers tried to push them thru with mixed results. Some got out of their funk, some after two weeks weren't coming out of it. Always good to have extras on the side just in case

Its not just light length that can trigger preflower.

Ive always got some runts that dont grow as fast as the rest. Or extras on the side.
I leave them in their 3 gal bags to get root bound and am harvesting in July, small nugs and colas. Fire smoke as good as my light dep. Just getting root bound bad enough will trigger flowering too.

Its best to be safe, wise and prudent when growing and giving advice.

I guess you cant if you haven't even harvested 100 pounds in a full term season. Hobbyists sheesh.

Look, I've been successfully growing outdoors for over twenty years, I have no interest getting into a pissing match with you. All I can(or will) say to that is that myself and the people I run with have not had preflowers outdoors from eclipses and small pots, our focus is on keeping our ladies healthy and happy.
I'm trying to be helpful and speak from my experiences, if you have had different experiences that you think could be helpful, you should totally share them in the interest of adding to the shared knowledge here.
And just so you know, I honestly couldn't cares less how much pot you have harvested.

LOL.
The site that too Larry posted is great, or I've used the farmers almanac to figure out what the light cycles in my area will be when I plan to plant them in the ground and they will deal with a little bit of a discrepancy between light cycles.

So at 18/6 right now . It’s safe to say I should slowly work back too 14 hour days by May 8th so it matches the day light ?

I've never gone from 18/6, but yeah that's the general idea, you might think about planting later than May 8th so you don't have to reduce the hours as much.

Hey Snoopy808, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I should have simply said that I have never had a plant started under natural light cycles preflower outdoors, and left it at that. There is too much negativity right now, I don't need to add to that. I bet you are an awesome grower, different growing styles, different experiences.
Happy growing.
