Here in Michigan people don't have to wear a helmet. I agree with the law. People should be able to choose. My only point is that with all of the idiot drivers out there, and with the possibility that you yourself could make an err in judgement while riding, I would opt for the helmet. I think it's the smart choice ..... but each to their own.

my bad............i didnt realize i was talking to michigan people again........ i gotta start looking at threads a lil better in the future

michigan needs a helmet law u people all drive crazy..........

Having lived and rode in many state and countries over too many years, I personally prefer the choice. I would wear a helmet when alone, in heavy traffic and at 60+ MPH for safety reasons. I would not wear a helmet when riding in large groups, off the beaten path or in parks so that I could truly enjoy the ride. Today I have a daughter and no living family, so I no longer make those choices for her well being and security :(

go with the shadow they are great bikes. and I suggest the 1100.its not to big. u go any smaller in a month u are gonna want to go bigger. that's my 2 cents the 1100 will keep u happy for awhile
