Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I want to switch as well. I have The Clinic of Effingham down the road, but I think I want to go to Litchfield. Seems like one heck a quality place with plenty of CBD strains.
That’s where I’m from. In fact, I live quite close to the dispensary. Their prices aren’t great but their selection is.

9/17 application received by mail
12/1 check cashed
12/6 called and they said I’m approved
12/14 card in hand!!!!!

Informed delivery did now show the mail from IDPH but I decided to go get the spam out the mailbox and card was there too. Nice surprise. Now to switch dispensary Monday. Gonna check the one I registered at tomorrow but not looking forward to the prices.

Thanks. It’s been a long tome coming. So happy future patients won’t need to wait at all. Can’t even imagine the pain this wait caused people.
I'm planning ahead so I'm not left with no options. When I changed diagnosis and meds insurance played games so I was without meds for 6 weeks. Thankfully I suggested a steroid figuring insurance would be a problem. There are surely people with Crohn's (and other problems) that every medicine has failed that DARE brainwashing has made afraid of cannabis so it was a last stab in the dark. So our "compassionate" state says they should wait 12 weeks in that kind of pain.
If the post federal legalization science proves treatment for anything this state is probably looking at some lawsuits.

Yes , its too bad. But it had to start somewhere , and if we just all gave up...well, whats the fun in that ! its sad people have to stand up and be counted , for medicine . a simple plant . But You Did It !! Best of Luck in All !

MCO 8/31
App received “mid September”
Card issued 11/30 (says on card)
Card received 12/10
101 days

Litchfield is my dispensary. Been twice since I have received my card. I guess the prices are comparable. They have a rewards program and specials weekly. Quality and service have been excellent.

Congratulations to this weeks recipients!!

I motioned the court for an immediate court order to obtain meds. Based on the law, they have violated my rights in my opinion. Let's see what the judge says.

I gotta switch as well, but I am going to make a purchase before I do. I was out of the city for a few months and moved back. I guess thats good because of more selection.

Does the card come in a package or a letter? Anybody know? I likely won't be around to receive it but have relatives that will. Is that letter you put in the picture the envelop the card came in?

Yes it’s just a white envelope with IDPH as the sender. You can feel the card through the envelope but can’t see what it it. Although they may be able to read the cover letter through.

I will just tell them to keep their eyes out for it. Thanks! I've asked them a few times if it has came, so they will probably give me a call.

Then I have to go back and not only change my dispensary but also my address. That looks like its more of an effort then I thought it would be. It might be worth waiting to see if these restriction ease up. Technically, the address my card is being sent to is the address that I used as my permanent address.

http://www.dph.illinois.gov/topics-services/prevention-wellness/medical-cannabis/change-of-application-information

Basically, I forgot about the whole "districts" thing. Since I will be changing districts, it looks like I will need a new card sent (maybe not see edit)? Then I will be able to change my dispensary. I have a feeling these are the type of things that are going to change immediately once the program is actually taken seriously.

Kinda sucks because I am sure the Chicago dispensaries are slightly better then the Rockford ones.

EDIT: Actually its not clear if a new card will be needed, it looks like that might only be needed for name changes. What I am not sure about is if the address documents need to be in my name. It will be easy to get a bill, but its not in my name. My license has my address, but will have my old one. The annoying thing is the place I am staying now is only temporary, I will likely be moving within the city in 2-3 months.
