Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

What stinks for me, is I should get my card tomorrow, but mail doesn’t come until 5, and my dispensary closes at 4. I also work everyday until 6, don’t get home until 7, and my dispensary closes at 6 during the week, so I may have to wait a while week.
Don’t wait. Change dispensary (only takes 24hrs) get meds at a late night place and then change back. My friend changes based on where hear working for the week. May seem time consuming at 1st but it really is an easy process. You also qualify for 1st time goodies in some places so it’s well worth it to shop around.

Awesome! Yeah, I’ll def. look into doing that!!! Thanks for the tip!

It still makes zero sense we have to wait 90 days for a card, but someone can just walk in and get meds because they're an addict. Seems pretty stupid if you ask me.
You might have missed that Provisional is different than the opiate access... When they implement the opiate rules, the Provisional access is also available to us here waiting the 90 days. So when the state communicates to the dispensaries and “us” that they are ready to go, we should get a document from the state (if you applied online) that you can take to your dispensary right away... while you wait the 90 days for the printed card.

I think you need your card number to change dispensaries... Let us know if this works for you, I’m regretting picking the dispensary I chose now— I want more CBD heavy options and the place I picked doesn’t stock many (or any) of the 1:1 strains. So I want to change asap as well.

Approved! Card in mail in 10-14 business days.

Timeline so far:
Doctor's Appt at MCO: Aug 30th (106 days)
App received: September 26 (79 days)
Approved yesterday it seems
Cool if they got to you they should have gotten to me my appt with mco was 2 days before you but state got app same day as yours hopefully a green Christmas lol

Any ideas on how long it is taking to get the card after the state cashes the check that we mail in with the application?

The dispensary I chose is great, tons of options for everything! But their hours are rough. I work in the loop and wish there were some right downtown I could walk to, but they aren’t close. So I doubt I’ll change now, after looking at locations on Leafly

What do you say when you call?

I had my MCO appt 8/30
Based on other’s timelines, my app might have been recieved around 9/26

I want an update but email says they won’t give updates. What’s the secret to getting them to tell me if I’ve been approved yet?

Ask them if you are approved. they will ask name and date of birth. I got threw after " High Volume calls " message came on the second time . elevator music then " High volume calls" , just be patient. They are cool , that's what they are there for / one of the reasons

Just say your looking for an update on your app, and if they say they haven’t gotten to it, be like I was wondering if you could tell me when my app was received...I went to MCO on this date but I know it’s take a couple weeks to send it in, so I am wondering what date you guys actually got it.

They should be able to tell you that, Anytime I’ve called and asked that, they told me, and it should be right there in front of them.

Update

Mailed app on Sept 14th
Check cashed on Dec 3rd
Informed Delivery shows mail from IDPH today.

I’m hoping it’s the card but I’m concerned maybe there is an issue with my app. Seems like it’s a little early for it be the card already
Hope its your card ! Please report back !!
