again new reactors can be built that are walk away safe. they will not meltdown if hit by earthquake tsunami tornado or hurricane.......

but we can also build them to use up the old waste that was left over from old reactors

the nuclear fleet that we have at the moment is a throw back to the cold war days and the need to provide material to build nuclear bombs. those reactors use 1% of the fuel available leaving the rest of the 99% of nastyness that lasts for a very long time

we can burn 99% of that same fuel

and we can do it safely

i personally want to to get rid of it and as a bonus we can power ourselves with it all

the cost of covering arizona with solar panels will cover it many magnitudes over
