Hey everyone!

Please correct me if wrong (i probably am). Grow mau kit with 5 3500k cobs in my DS90 tent (90cmx90cm)

44540 lumens
par/w 124
PPF: 576.6
PPFD (90cmx90cm): 708
COB efficiency: 56.34%
lumens/w: 182.54

Does that makes sense? I tink that the more i read more confused i am...

Also can i go with this from seed to harvest with good veg development or should i throw in some 5000k to help? Do you think 5 COBS is enough for this tent?

Thanks!
Could always go bigger but it'd work. You don't need 5000k

Had a quick look at this - much more within my price range - I'm UK based and can source these at £18 instead of £44 for the Cree. I assume there's a pay off for the lower price though...

http://www.digikey.co.uk/product-search/en?mpart=BXRC-35E10K0-L-23&vendor=976

How many would I need to run to cover 60cm square? And could you point me in the direction of a driver that number - sorry math and calculating amp/watts/volts breaks my head!
where would you be paying 44 quid for cree, we sell them at 28 pounds
Cheers

Hi Mark

Can you just confirm why the MAU5-1 Sup_PS is cheaper than the MAU5-1?

I'd be after CXB359-LHA72VKIT, passive cooling and a suitable driver (240V UK).

My grow is only 60cm square - what sort of area does the MicroGreen2 designed to cover?

sorry we seem to have a glitch on this part. The price is AUD159 on this so not cheaper. I would recommend 4 microgreen2 but you will need a fan driver as well, so for passive cooling MAU5-IV kit most likely your best option, possibly slight overkill for 60cm but will give you a great result, Ship cost to the UK approx GBP35
Cheers

efficiency will matter more as time goes by and more states legalize pot,and other states ban hid lighting.just wait till they decide we have to pay some crazy high tax on hps lamps unless we are buying them for lighting streets(gov lights) wasnt it last year washington state had such a good outdoor season that pot was being sold for 2 to 3 bucks a gram?
i have no problem getting 4 bones a pound but i know these days are numbered here in mich, rec weed is/will be on the ballot this year.they are talking like everyone can grow 12 plants.it will be to my advantage to know how to grow under and build cheap, high eff led panels.
i think in the near future we are going to see the gov get more involved in how indoor growing uses power and what kind of stress its putting on our power grid here in the usa.i have already read some things about colorados power grid having issues, just look at all the 50 to 100 light warehouse grows popping up on instagram.

it does get annoying here sometimes when a few guys like to talk like they know it all and those few dont have any grows to back up all the shit they stir or should i say facts they puke up from some data sheet lol.

CA, has the highest demand for cannabis, more then all the REC legal states combined and some. if CA made REC legal, I can see them dropping banns on high current lighting. as it is right now in the summer, we are already pinned at 110% on the grid. mandatory 5 hour black out rotations have happen.

since SDG&E changed to tier type payment, craigslist was littered (still is) with down right giveaways on HPS lighting.
even 4ft T5's are being dumped.

It isnt really the highest demand as it is the highest producer in the World......
we produce something upwards of 70+ % of all cannabis consumed in the US alone...
yeah I think if rec becomes legal....they are gonna throw the hammer at HID lighting
hell we might even get tax breaks for using LED

O for certain on tax breaks... cree bulbs at home depot already had a "tax discount," then the solar panel tax break... Definitely gonna be the way of the future before too long.

We're just all on board ahead of time ;)

Don't buy those. @Will Thayer did you ever figure out a UK Citizen solution?

The lower price isn't the problem, being sort of crap is. But Vero and Cree are your beaten paths. Vero isn't worth buying, and Cree costs a bit more and is much, much better.

Also, don't spend £44 when you can order them for like £30 from AU/US DIY sources. £27 at Cutter in Australia? Surely you don't always get taxed...

I think the UK can get Citizens easily, which is great but more explaining than I am going to do.

Check out cutter, pacific light concepts, and timber lights. They sell whole kits for around $400usd, or individual stuff is in stock at PLC...actually lets add those up. Yeah PLC is very cheap, $300 for heatsink, cobs, and driver. No idea about international shipping.
How exactly is it crap, and I'm not trying to troll here.
I'm actually interested in what makes cree better other than slightly better efficiency with specific builds.

Initially I was looking at cree but realized I needed good bins, and they seem to cost more. It simply wasn't worth my time tracking down better bins only to pay more for something that could be outdated in 6-8 months and would require soldering when upgrading to a newer model.

In the meantime I decided to just stick with a 600hps till the new vero's come out.
The heat sucks, but at least it's efficient while it cooks my shit.

Here's the Vero thread for anyone interested.

Here's a quote from page 108 of the above thread.

Gen 7 numbers , still haven't seen a datasheet on them. Doubt they will put one out till the gen 7 s release next month.

our medical enrollment alone is more then the whole population of CO, and mo fos smoke like whoa, in CA. I see fools buy Swisher sweets by the box. I never see anyone buy zigzags. you guys remember "Randy's" rolling papers. I used to love those everyone hated on me for them, now they dusty AF.

prop 215: says it need to be grown in CA, to be used. But I know we are bringing it from else where. ive seen a lot of 100sf grows, but that's not enough. indicas are in such high demand: you would drive here, if you know what they were paying for mediocre indicas here.

people are stupid, they think SUPER DUPER fire is, in my eyes just good.: they pay $15 for what people in the north Ca would pay $7

Your plan is a good one, wait for the update.

Man I just replaced almost all my bulbs with these filament leds from China. Hopefully the lifespan is there, because the design is really smart and inventive. Of course I have no idea who actually invented them, because China.

Literally every bulb in my house is a cree globe, I've had one go out on me recently (after about.... I dono. A year? Maybe more..?) I gave my dad 3 to try and he had one go out almost instantly but outside of that... my electric bill is stupid low. (~100 bucks, with my hobby's main area full blast [less than 500w])

I probably bought 25 of em... so go from 23w x 25= 575w, of course they're not all on at once but you'd be surprised how often several of them are on... down to 9.5w x 25= 238w. Fuggin yea.

My garage alone has 12 of them, that's what really pushed me since there is 6 on each switch. (2nd shift, out there when it's dark a lot)

Right now I'm looking at diying a nice rabbit hutch, lean to greenhouse, compost barrels, and rain collection barrel. Bout to fall off the grid! Now about thay solar power.. lol.

Ok... I guess it's the cool thing to jump in and say, "hey look at me I sell stuff too" when someone asks about or brings up another company.

Since things were asked about PLC and my goal is to help as many as I can where ever they may be...

-PLC does NOT charge a paypal fee, or any "handling" fees. Never have, and don't plan on it as long as I'm around.
-PLC will start to ship internationally with components right away. You want them...we got them. Then later this year fixtures as well.

????? I'm just selling CXB3590's and the holders no fixtures. I mentioned on Thursday that I was gonna be selling them

Guys I've got some big shit that's gonna happen here for the diy guys in the US.
I also carry Meanwell drivers and I'm gonna be a threat to most because of my pricing. I'm not marking it up. I'll have Kingbrite prices without the PayPal fees as well, that's what makes things interesting and shipping I use USPS Priority Mail. Sorry non-US customers I'm not ready for international shipping yet.

you gonna be like the people buying video cards for your PC: and never buy anything cause tom's says there is an update coming. you don't even realize that VC you have now that's been working that whole time. because you are too busy looking at the next best thing.

Lol it's the CXB3590 6500k DB 72v is what I have in stock right now and I have 2 DD bin left that's not for sale. I'm gonna build another veg light with it and run it at 70% efficient like now I do with the panel I already made and use.
