the plant in the pic is just to show you what to count.yes i no that's a hermie. this will be nice if true. i have will did and he had 4. in fact its the same plant that i put in the other thread i started 2TREADS ALL WRAPED UP IN ONE. in that thread i also show another potential way of sexing b4 flower.

MG the female i havested two days ago has four ridges on the stalk making four bumps ,i choped down a male i have in the yard its plump but during close inspection im finding the male had five ?

ok so in the pic below is just a plant. note were i circled the stem. now on all stems there are these ridges or humps. im sure theirs a teq name for these but i could not find it, any way like i said after furture studing i have found that the MALE plant has 4 of these humps and the FEMALE has 5 humps. take a look at your seedlingand start counting. see if there are any diffrences.

Just counted the ridges on my females. They all have 4. They're all from the same mother. I do have one undetermined plant that I am waiting for clones to root so I can throw them into flowering to determine sex. They also have 4 ridges like my others.

The more I look at it, is it 6 ridges and not 4 I have here?? What do you guys think?

i think your counting the wrong ridges. count the ridges that are around the main stalk that run the length off it. look at the pic i posted the arrow points at what to cout.

That is the main stem. Thats where it has been cut back to. Then 2 branches come out from the sides. It's just a top view of the cut so it can bee seen as kind of a cross section of it.



ETA: here's a picture from the side so you can see where it has been taken from. Count it how you want. 4 or 6.

Yeah I though 4 at first, but then seen 6. LMAO. I think your theory might only be good for your strain, not all.

this may be true, but i do have multiple strain and the all look alike at the stalk. i'll be watching this more myself.i justthought i would share my finding and pass it down. just somethingto keepyour eyes open for. :peace:

Well thats weird then if you have different strains and this all hold true and mine it doesn't. Maybe different grow conditions or something can effect it I don't know. I never counted them on any of my last grows or plants. Tell ya the truth I never really looked at these ridges till you made this thread about it. Keep up the looking.

Killer observation dude. Hopefully this gets figured out and there is some fact but like said before even if its not the attention u seem to have to detail on ur ladies will place ur smoke in lucrative areas we all wish to grow in no time.. Keep it up.

thanks guys.there has to be a way to tell boys and girls apart. hell me have a pee pee when me born not latter. LOL:hump: why not a marijuana plant.

Now you have my all wondering. I have 4 seedlings now, but it is WAY to early for any sort of pre-flowering or anything. I am going to watch closely. I have three that appear to have 6, and one that has only 4. That said, I have two clones from a female plant from my last grow that only has 4. I KNOW they are girls.

I just had to check sfter reading this. Got 7 strains all my moms have 5 but don't have any males to compare. Will keep chacking to see where this goes.

none of my clones have any ridges at all :p

pot is like any other seasonal flower. it grows as a plant, then flowers to reproduce. any pot plant can result in male or female, and is affected by condition. if you don't believe this, plant two probable female plants from seed in a 3g pot. one WILL be male, the other female. every time.

ridges really only mean your plant has large trunk lines able to move nutes and water. good for creating buds, but not indicative of gender.

kudos to the experimentation though; you'll end up one of the growru's soon enough ;)
