I Need to be Comforted. Is America this Bad?

As the title suggests, I simply need someone to let me know if I am just bitching about nothing or if things have gotten as bad as I fear. Right now I literally have a sickening feeling in my stomach as to the politics and politicians that surround the American government. It is a very claustrophobic feeling to know that no matter what "knight and shining armor" goes through to become a president and to "stand for change" will only be tainted by the sick growth that continues to grow during the electoral process. For many of you this is just old news to you; been there, thought about that. But for some this may be a very eye opening experience. In current news as many of you all heard and know, Obama and his cute entourage of brain trusts literally could not speak the word marijuana without laughing! It is so sick to think that for many of us, marijuana is the reason we are still alive. Marijuana is the reason we have a quality of life! So all I ask is to know whether this is just a figment of my imagination or does America deserve the "Scum of the World" seal of approval. I am just so god damn sick of politicians and their secret agendas!

yeah american politics simply is a choice between the lesser of 2 evils. people who crave power should never have it and people who should have power never want it. thats the simple truth at least bush is out but were probably still screwed.

Just light up a doobie and stay away from the news, i get depressed everytime i see the news. Nothing ever good happens with that. I just pray and hope it all turns out well :) smoke on!

time for a little whinning here. damn economy sucks. 401 k is going in the shitter. im lucky to be working 3 days a week. ive got very little bud and i ordered a zip 2 weeks ago and still havnt got it. im 10 weeks or more from harvest. i dont think ive been without any nuggs 1987 so my zip better come soon. never taken more than a few days to get it. quit smoking cigs 3 weeks ago. i could go on but someone might think im a wuss. wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :cry:
oh yeah things got a lot better yeterday. my attitude orders showed up. went and picked them up and they were beautiful :hump: all better now.

It not a bad thing being American. Its just a crazy time right now. I think Obama will do alright, and that is coming from a very right wing minded person. There is a lot to recover from. A big spin off with how Allen Greenspan housing bubble busted, all the bank giving loans that they shouldn't have, and the whole bail out thing. Economics is just a way of tricking the general public in my eyes with numbers. I have been to many countries and was involved in the war. I also traveled around the globe and never really got any flax for being American. I think the only place that I felt a little uneasy with saying that I was American and involved with the military was Latvia. Again it was right in the middle of the whole Gorgia thing going on so I was kinda a little nervous not knowing much about Russian poltics that much and I was coming from Iraq. The marijuana thing is kinda funny I think. Body language is and the power of sugestion are powerful tool. I think we know where Obama stands on the war on drugs at least regarding marijuana, but change takes time of course. It cant happen overnight of course and state laws have been getting more an more lax over the years in regards to marijuana.

I feel your pain that politicians suck, and for as 'good' and powerful as we are as a country, I think we should be doing better. But I'm hard on everybody. I think everyone should be better.

Speaking of 'scum of the world' how about the leaders in the Sudan expelling all the releif groups from the country.

Or Zimbabwe where the president calls the cholera outbreak in his country a 'fictional plot from the west'. And he promised at his birthday party he will continue to re-take all land owned by whites. Plus their unemployment is 80% I think, and their inflation is something like 100 billion % annually.

I'm not trying to argue the good or bad points of policy in Zimbabwe or Sudan, just that USA isn't as fucked up those two places.

Two other things: If Obama started talking about legalizing mj right now, that would be the worst thing for the movement. The opposition is just waiting for something else to jump on him about, and if they even suggested it all the news folks and talk show folks would destroy any chance of it happening. And it would have nothing to do with mj, all to do with politics. I think they will just wait for an opportune time, when some real crazy shit is going on (i know stuff is going on now).

Also, I thought it was a choice between a Giant Douche and a Terd Sandwhich, haha. Good quote bro.
