I need some serious help devising a security system.

My fellow RIU members i'm in serious need of some help

In the neighborhood i live in there has been repeated break ins in the houses right next to where we live.

Our expedition was even broken into about a month ago.

My girlfriends Grandpa lives next door and at three in the morning a few nights ago he heard people in his backyard and went out and scared them off.

The person next to him had their car broken into a few days ago, and they had people in their backyard too looking aroudn

From their descriptions all i know is that its two males walking around in the middle of the night with backpacks just surveying the neighborhood for something to break into or steal. Fucking tweakers man.


I know that they've seen my plants theirs no way they havent, they've been going throught everyones backyard on our whole block.



I need to set up some sort of security system that will wake us up if someone is in the back trying to steal my buds.


I know their gonnna wait till the plants are done and then make their move.


We have dogs and cats so i cant use a motion sensor system becuase they will set it off.


I have to work 40 hours a week but if i didnt believe me i would be staying up all night with my pepper spray and a baseball bat waiting for these motherfuckers to come into my yard. i swear i will bust some heads in if i see these lowlifes.



Help me out guys i need ideas of how i can stop these dirtbags from getting my hardearned harvest.

check this out its called a land mine trip wire that sets off like a flash bang grenade... you can google this its about 30 bucks im getting one my self soon. you just set trip wires and when some ones is creepin around and sets it off its a bang as loud as a shot gun. it will stun the perps and wake u the fuck up =)

.. jesus where do you live .. Richmond ? >,< Buy a tent I saw a small one at OSH for 20$ then put a small lantern (electric) in there with a cut out of an AK so that it'll cast a nice silhouette..

And live in san jose, we live in a nice neighborhood. but a few blocks away is apartments with a lot of lowlife criminals.

ah, yea I know some people who live in Alviso with a nice indoor grow. just cut it out of plywood or even cardboard .. all its gotta do is cast a shadow onto the outside of the tent.

Now here is the time where I encourage violence. I would literally sit in my backyard in the dark night after night. WHEN they show up, yea, ones dead for sure. It's one thing to try and get revenge if you're a guerilla grower on private land, but my backyard? The one with windows to my kids bedrooms? Plain and simple. Kill them. Stop them from possibly killing someone in their futures. To step into ones yard to steal? Yea, zero regard for the law. Shotgun in the chest then call the cops to remove the fuck. Why did you shoot them? Um, I was protecting my children? Oh ok thank you sir. Have a nice night.

Yes violence is definetly an answer in this circumstance.

they need to be stopped.


I'm problaby gonna stay up all night once a week (on my day off) with a couple friends, some pepper spray, and some bats clubs etc.

thats ur best bet if theyve been back this many times, i dnt give it more than a day or 2 before there back again

a motion-sensor flood light will detract unwanted assailants -- if won't wake you up & you should also use other measures

how bout a fence? and a video camera?

You are way more forgiving than me.If I find em @ night they will be found DOA.Prevents the escalation to assault or Murder.
I am surrounded by the people from Deliverance in this Jungle and all it took was two Jacketed Hollow Points and I no longer have inbred problems.
PS if ya tell the Law you were waiting on them,they WILL hang a premeditation charge on you.Ditch the tent and start on your Ghillie Suit.

I'm not telling anybody anything about waiting for people.


Ill tell them i heard someone out back, i went back there and in the middle of the night i found some criminal lurking in my backyard so i did what i had to do to protect my family.

I have my card too so they wont trip.



Any other ideas on how i can set something up that if they try to physically move my plants an alarm will go off that wakes us up.


Once again theres 6 cats that live here, the plants are mostly in one main garden that the cats dont get into.


Theres 3 other little mini garden areas two but the cats walk around in them.

Get some fishing line and hooks, hang them at neck/face height. Take some boards with large nails threw them, surround your plants with them. Go to a hunting store, buy a coyote/bear trap. There are PLENTY of ways to fuck a thief. IF your plants are in buckets lace the part they would grab with razors, etc etc etc....GET CREATIVE! GOOD LUCK! OOOH and get a trail cam!

Personally I have a potential thief problem myself. I sit outside my backyard with an AK47 and watch my crop -=)

I would setup false cameras along with legit cameras.
I would make sure all windows and doors are secure and have a locking mechanism.
And to complete it I would purchase a home alarm system.

If you have your permit to purchase it might not be a bad idea to own a firearm for home defense purposes.

Easy Killers.........while I do have an AK, M4, and many other guns, I prefer prevention to more problems. I recommend a dog run to enclose your plants. I put up a 12x12 dog run and covered it with a large metal mesh top. The gate is locked and I spiked the sides to the ground inside using concrete spikes. It's a fortress and still getting all the light it needs. Hope that helps.

Yessss great idea with the false cameras. Im definetly going to look into getting an alarm system set up.

I need more ideas cmon peeps.

Impossible most of my plants are in the ground.

How much vacation time you got? Last year I took 6 weeks of vacation right around harvest.

There's almost no substitute for a live person.

Can you, or others in your household change their work shift, for a short time?

Can you get someone to come stay there at night? That's your best bet.

Any friends that owe you a favor?

Get some fishing line and run the line from the base of your stalks to beer cans or pop cans in your room... if they move them at all youll know it... have a bat or your trusty 3 iron ready
