Hey Clump! Firstly congrats on a first harvest, and getting this far! Personally I go by stem snap, not just in one place, but a couple of snaps give me a good indication of how things are progressing. In time, and with enough experience, this method becomes quite reliable. Your drying temp range dips a bit, and without knowing how much of that time is spent on the lower range, its hard to say from pics and stats alone, when its just right, but at 6 days, you are certainly close, judging by how much bud is hanging - if you can - get a hygrometer and put that in the jar along with the bud. This way, you can get useful info on whats actually happening in the jar. After a couple hours in the jar, check in on things, and if it feels a bit too moise, then take em out for a couple more hours to continue drying. From the pics it does looks like you have a bit of leafy material left, and I do find that those parts give you a really good indication of how much moisture if left. If they turn limp and soft after a couple of hours, its usually a sign to get em out and dry a bit more.

Disclaimer: I have not had the opportunity to dry my 1st harvest yet.. but

to get an idea of how much moisture is still in the bud snip a small nug and put it in a jar with a hygrometer for a couple hours. Seems like sound advice to take a small sample. It's what I am going to try if I run into the same issue.

More experienced ppl will most likely have other methods they have actually done successfully.

Good job clump! great lookin buds.
The jars will tell you a lot. if the leaves are crispy then trim um an jar um.....after a night you can tell by touching the buds if they need more dry time or not.
if , after 12 or so hours in a jar , they are still nice and dry then just keep it jarred and keep checking it every day. now is a good time to rock a joint of it to see what your working with moisture wise.

This is what I’d do..
I’d trim them up again..
Throw them back to dry..
For another 5-7 days..
Take out and jar.
Burp 2 or 3 times a day the first week
After that, once a day for a week
After that, once every few days and so on

I don’t deal with hum% in my jars or none of that.
Dry temp @67f
Dry humidity @ 63%

day 6 at those temps and humidity levels , you should be good and "dry" (the density you talked about is a good indicator too...if its still soaked then it will not be as dense)
Smoke a joint , then cure as long as you'd like for the best terps and such.

i need to practice dialing in the room with a humidifier and AC & fans. I'm days away from chopping.

All that is very helpful but not all of it is needed for proper buds. most ol schools can get away with just going by feel and touch, and throw in fans to keep the mold out. 60-80f ish.... 30-70% RH ish... will get you proper buds but being on the low or high side of those numbers can slow or speed things up.
Its best to just keep the room in a good range and not worry about it.

So I can dry in a dark tent between 60-80F and 30-70% RH? with the fan leaves cut off that have stems should that take about a week to dry?

Well said. I don't have AC or humis, but that's never been a massive issue, so long as you can keep things within a good range. I am at the mercy of the weather, and some days you just need to add a fan, open a window or spread your bud apart (depending on how much you are drying) at best I use a small oil fin heater to up the Temps on cold wet days and assist the RH, but really it's just about keeping an eye on things and trying to keep it low, slow and within reasonable ranges, with indirect airflow, good air exchange and low light and let nature do the rest.

jar it for at least 12 hours then check it..... the moisture from the center will get pulled out. If it still feels wet then take it out an dry it some more....then try again.

tents RH skyrockets when no movement or airflow.
Thats just a range .... if you stayed at 75f+ and 35% RH , then you would almost cook it dry in 2 days.
If were at 60f and 70% , it would mold fairly fast and never dry.
So to answer your question:Yes but you want to check on it a lot and be sure your RH is not staying too high, temps are ok, ect....

yes , its going to take several hours in a sealed jar for it to start rising. The moisture from the stems will come out into the buds and even it all out. Even if you left the jar for 24 hours without checking , it wouldnt hurt it. leave it closed for at least 12 hours then check it.
