grasscity.com does suck balls. Rollitup.org and ICMag.com baby. ICMag has much love for CFL'ers. A guy there named Dr.Bud Greengenes is changing the game with CFLs. Perpetual SOG in 20oz Gatorage bottles. 27 bottles total each yeilding 10-21 grams(dry) each. He Harvests like 3 every weeks. This guys lives totally of the grid atop some mountain in the woods.

Doesn't suprise me one bit, the t5's are really great the growth rate is super fast for real and you can sog with ease on the 4 footers just need a good amount of space I did mine in my closet I had my bigger plant growing while vegging and had the seedlings lined up across the light (thinks) maybe I should get another ballast and set that up in my grow space

Some dumb ass mod "AKinfiniti" started bitching atme, and I proved him wrong so he left me a negative rep, deleted all my threads in that post, edited his posts so he could misquote me and gave me a 10 day ban. GC is like the the kiddy pool of pot forums. One of there mods claims to be a gang banger in detroit but he has 12,000+ posts.

I pulled 1.5 oz off a 2.5' plant all cfl.

same strain...early in flower now...I'm going to try for 2 oz off one 3' plant.

I am not a drug baron. I do not sell it...I smoke it. I grow in a closet and I like growing out a single plant at a time.

In looking on ebay I see that you can get a nice 150 watt hps set-up for $86 delivered. In doing my math...I'd get more light and actually use less watts.
Not certain how hot a 150 watt hps gets though. It's a fairly large closet. I'd say my available growing area was 7' tall, 3' wide, 5' long (depth) no venting though.
I open the door a few times a day when checking in on the plant.

Will I have heat issues?

It depends on the size of your closet I guess. I used a 250w HPS on my last grow and taking care of the high temp was a pain in the ass.
But it was in a small closet.

I started out using CFLs for my first grow and am currently finishing it up. I didn't want to dump a ton of money into buying expensive ballasts and boxes and set ups until I knew this was something I wanted to do.

I'm going to finish up a few more grows with this setup and after all my bulbs die I'm going to upgrade. Great, inexpensive way to learn some basics. Once I get a MH/HID setup, I'll be rolling for sure

Yeah plp hate on CFLs a bit, dont fret it man, they get the job done.

We know HPS is pretty well better but so what it's your setup.

I tried there before here also, just a bunch of pricks.

yeah, itll get hot. props on the cfls... i just harvested 2.25z dry wght off a 3' bush in the closet myself. beautiful buds...

I am here to tell the other side to the story. Firstly no proof on Grasscity? There is an entire forum dedicated to grow journals with pictures. They hate on CFL user's? Many threads are to do with CFL grows/questions and get answered fine also many of the grow journals are CFL and there are CFL stickies. To akinfinity banning you, I don't know you personally maybe your telling the truth but I have only seen him ever delete posts that were Misinformed/Spam or assholes. And to the 12k posts(gangbanger? lol) The website has almost been around a decade what do you except? 1000 posts?

And to x4u2sm0ke. That's why we have mods to delete smug asshole posts(aka the person who got banned for 10 days) We don't need you to make the situation worse. But if we want to bash a website for nothing lets start with the extremely horrible colour scheme here. I can barely stand it

Just a tad bit of wisdom for you brotha! WHO GIVES A FUCKLESS WHAT PEOPLE THINK OR SAY ABOUT YOU AND YOUR GROWING. Last time I checked, my personal happiness is ALOT more important than that of my critics. I believe this to be true for yourself as well.

Another thing to consider possibly, WHAT WORKS FOR OTHERS MAY OR MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU. And vice versa. Personally I have grown some really amazing mind numbing bud in a very small closet using a varied range of CFLS. I think that it is VERY FEASIBLE to grow some amazing bud with CFLS, but only on a very small scale. I AGREE AND AKNOWLEDGE that HIDS are by far way more PRODUCTIVE when it comes to yield. HOWEVER, NOTHING BEATS THE BEST BULB IN THE UNIVERSE, THAT BEING OUR GREAT SUN!!!!!

Its ALL artifical lighting when it comes to cultivation indoors ( unless you have measures that allow for sunlight within your house...i.e skylights ) Just aim to find what works best for you and what makes you the happiest. Last time I checked nobody had a offical title of UNDEFEATED CANNABIS CULTIVATION CHAMPION, theres no GOD of Cultivation to tell us what is best and/or right and wrong. Cannabis Cultivation is NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE. Granted BOTANY is, BUT THAT IS PLANT BIOLOGY, NOT PLANT CULTIVATION. Who knows, maybe one day we will find and engineer something that is more efficent and more productive that our SUN( I personally doubt it will happen, but ya never know I guess)
