Lucky you didn't blow your ass up..... whats the refill price..? are you using full size or small tanks..?
i've thought of that. i have the fireplace going as well. fuckin' huge bomb. :fire:

i have 30 and 40 pound tanks. little baby ones. i should put them outside and run my hoses thru the wall. i think this would be the safest idea. :-P:clap:

When I was a mechanic one of the guys knocked a tank over and the valve broke... Damn thing was like a torpedo... it was about 1/2 full and still went about 5" into the cinder block... don't want to be around that happening....... I had an acetylene tank hose catch fire once from falling hot metal.... NOT GOOD... never saw so many frenchmen run like shit...

Your a tech too twisty? I have the big set up in my shop.Initial setup is like 350, refills are not too bad. Fdd you could buy a oxyacetylene hose reel 50 ft if needed. Try Northern tools. And i am pretty sure you wount blow up from the oxygen leaking. I'm pretty sure you need something flammable for the oxygen to carry. Cant light the torch with just the oxygen running. It will just feel like a vegas poker night. More oxygen makes you less tired. Lots of glass blowing dildos then.

if i get into this any further i will build an add on. i want to be in an enclosed area outside. i have some ideas. to fully dive in and get ALL the needed supplies is about a 1000 dollars. after a nice torch and a kiln and some hand tools. i'm not sure if i want to take that leap yet. my wife and i have ordered some books. i'm going to do some research and some more practicing before i spend anymore money. i will refill my tank though. i can put it right outside my side door for now. it's a covered area.

The internal mix is the noisy one.
I could get use to the noise but would prefer not to. Cool video Looks as if a smart person could learn to do that glass work by watching videos. Who says the internet is useless?

I use soapy water and sprayer when I change out bottles, even my co2 and propane for fireplace, to check for leaks, but on the torch you have to turn valves off. Used to get pissed at guys in shop who didnt, they were like I dont pay for it?????But now I cant use it either.

Any how enough of my ranting, looks good Fdd-

I'm not sure of welding tank o2 % but I have COPD and if I was using oxygen you can't smoke in a room where o2 is being used....:?:

Twisty looked on the tank it just says oxygen no%-this is what I know-Dont know what a copd is

What will make oxygen explode?

Nothing can make oxygen explode!

A faulty oxygen cylinder can explode, but that's not the fault of oxygen, any gas under pressure would cause a faulty cylinder to explode, but that happens without a spark or match!

Oxygen is the stuff that supports combustion, that is, makes other things burn. And if it makes something burn really really quickly, that will look like an explosion.

So if you mix oxygen and hydrogen together and add a spark there is an almighty bang - the hydrogen exploded!

So if you smoke a cigarette in pure oxygen, the cigarette will have a very large flame - the cigarette will appear to explode!

If you generate a spark in pure oxygen ALONE, you may detect a 'bleach' like smell which is ozone (oxygen is O2, ozone is O3). But there is no explosion! If the spark is a piece of hot metal (like off an emery wheel), the sparks will be brighter and 'die' quicker, but .... sorry .... no explosions!

Summary and bottom line - oxygen does not burn, things put in oxygen burn. Oxygen does not explode, faulty oxygen bottles will explode.
