Do you mean you can't defoliate multiple times and by that promote more leaf growth?
Of course a plant will divert energy to replace a leaf that the grower has prematurely removed. And you rapers claim, and I use claim strongly, this diversion of energy to replace a leaf increases yield.

I took all the feathers off my bird to see if it would fly farther!
if it doesn't fly farther, You just did it wrong. you not suppose to pull them off until the bird is at least 2 weeks old.

this is 2014 and feather plucking birds has advanced in techniques. your just stuck in the past and won't admit to the advances.

Thus proving that you don't even understand the principles of the technique being discussed!! I did explain it very simply earlier on in this thread but you obviously chose not to read that bit.

The increased yield comes from the middle and lower buds because of the extra light penetrating the canopy from the defoliation of leaves, these now mature budsites replace the immature budsites which would have been there before and are generally discarded by the lollipop technique or later on in harvest.

instead of raping the plant of leaves, Why not just get a better light?

It seems so far the only arguments against defoliation are giving analogies about how when you take things off something it stops being as good!!

Ok so I went to a lap dancing club the other night, she was about to take her bikini off but I said "hell no". "Don't defoliate your clothes, it's much better to have more clothes and could you possibly go and put some more on" because more clothes on a lap dancer is much better than taking them off.

I rest my case.

Have you invented a light that can penetrate leaves and just get to the bud then, maybe you should take it on Dragons den because I would buy one and I'm in!!

Your little picture shows a plant which has clearly been defoliated down the left!! Who's side are you on here???

I don't have any intentions of studying law and becoming a solicitor, but thanks for the careers advice it's duly noted.

It's quite hard to take a person seriously that has a picture of man who is clearly as mad as a box of frogs as their avatar.
