I have a few plant issues. Please help.

I wonder if anyone can diagnose these problems. I'm not sure if they are the same problem or not either. I am vegging under a 1000W open bulb which is several feet above the plants. I am also using Technaflora Plant Products nutrients (in soil) as directed in the starter kit and the temp is at 80 degrees. I also started watering with hard water until I read the water thread at which time I switched to distilled water. I also see no signs of bugs or mites. Can someone please chime in here?

Looks like a combination of zinc and potassium deficiencies.
First, check the PH of that water, keep it around 6.5
Next, the soil looks really dry.
After that, try water only for a while.
How often are you watering?

I am watering when the soil feels dry (where I watered it last) when i insert my finger or by feel of the weight of the container. Usually, about every 2-3 days. Do my nutes not contain enough Potassium or Zinc? Should i supplement?

your going to kill this plant with love man

Do you suggest watering down all the soil at once? If so, will that be considered an over watering if I just moistened the top layer of soil?
i suggest leaving it alone, plain water from now on every 3-5 days.....what are they in a 3 gal nursery pot? that pot with that size plant will retain enough moisture for 2 weeks. stop watering them so much and stop feeding them completly

if the confitions get worse you may need to flush the pots with (pot size)5 parts water so if its a 3 gal pot 15 gallons of water.. that plant is still a baby and if the potting soil you got was potting soil it has food in it already.

dont listen to this guy, with the info you have provided theres no way he can diagnose a deficiency.

ph of the water you use is just dead information, the soil will buffer to whatever PH it is after a couple hours regaurdless of PH of solution u used to water/feed. if you want a usefull PH reading get a accurate PH reading of the soil, then you can correct so there is no lockout and see what elements are being locked out if the PH of the soil is off.

Right on. Will do. Time to lay off the nutes and water. Thanks and I will post up results in a week or so if they make it or not. Thanks again.

Now I'm concerned about the whole warm soil = nute burn thing. Thats why I asked if i should just moisten the soil on top but then I thought that might make the soil hotter deeper down.

No its just Sunshine mix #4.
thats good, so if they start getting worse a good flush will get rid of anything you have put in there. are you feeding 1/4 strength of the recomended dosage on label?

also usually pro-mix has lime in it so the PH should be pretty close maybe a tad high. woth checking though a PH of 6 and a PH of 7 means a huge difference.

im pretty sure sunshine #4 is a soiless mix which means its has 0 nutritional value, so more water wont "release" any nutrients

im not really sure what the PH is supposed to be with that stuff wether they treat is as hydro like they do with cocoa or if its like soil......

another thing worth looking into. hydro ideal PH is 5.8 and soil is like 6.5 which is a big difference

Hot soil means that the soil has a toxic level of nutrients in it not that the soil is to warm temperature wise, if you use to much fertilizer the plants will get nutrient burn which stunts growth and burns leaves.

Am I correct about the moistening the soil idea? Would it help lower the temp or increase it at a deeper depth?

OK. I will test the PH of the soil. Also, the nutes I mentioned above....the starter pack I use...was recommended to me by my local grow shop becasue its a good beginner nute pack and its hard to over nute as long as you follow the directions in the starter pack. So, I have been using the recommended dosage stated by the pack.
