Myke, I haven't read all 13 pages, only half. But I am surprised that you are using pH down at all. Perhaps it's just me, but after mixing my nutes starting with good tap water (7ish pH and 43 ppm) my pH is always low and I have to use up not down. After this grow I would seriously consider giving gh 3 part a go.

Thanks, normally my ppm is much higher so I dont use near as much.I have a few litres left of my nutes once they,re gone I will get something different.Heck maybe sooner then later :)

No mate I haven't grown the same strain in coco but some strains were affected more than others. I have started to feed much higher this run, starting off higher whilst in veg to get them used to it. I also been using a drill pump to make sure I get all of the stuff from the bottom of the tubs when I change out, but as mentioned I have jumped ship with the RDWC and modified the system to top feed recirculating with all of the roots in rockwool croutons (mini cubes). Seems to be working so far and I have had this problem with every grow in RDWC.

Ya Im stuck on rdwc and coco.I have a few buddies that I supply with small plants so the rdwc makes it easy to get them going.I put clones in 3" net pots let them grow in a tote then transplant into coco and off they go.putting a small rooted clone in coco is to much work with watering.
Edit to add a pic. This is my veg area. The tote is hooked into my system along with 4 pails. Res is outside of the room. I run a 1/2” line around the perimeter of the tote. Small holes every 2” spray down water. Allows me to put a bunch of rooted clones in then pic the best ones for transplant.

This am I’m seeing tip burn again on new growth. Has to be the amount of ph down I’m using as this has happened twice now.
Will gear up with a new solution tonight. Will abandon the calmag and up my food to around 1000 and see if I get any yellowing. This will reduce the amount of ph down by at least half. I can always add Ca or Mg after. My hunch is 1000 ppm of food and about 100 ppm of Mg is what I need.

I have a feeling you are gonna nute burn them. You need to get the VPD dialed in then adjust feed. VPD is the driving force for transpiration and calcium is passively taken up you can increase or lower nutrient uptake by adjusting VPD. But its much better and less issues when gaining ideal VPD for stage of growth then adjust the nutrient concentration and ratios. Ratio's are important if you increase everything you must adjust every other additive in the same ratio. Its finding the right ratio in conjunction with your base nutes, water source and additives. That why i said to drop all the other shit and just start with the basics. Sorry i have been a bit busy lately but where are you sitting now? what are you adding and what are the parameters

Hey welcome back. Thanks for your time. I know busy time of year.
Vpd is good since adding another coco plant to the room my rh has risen 55% to keep temps up I had no choice and added a 150 watt heater. Temp swings outside have been crazy last week.
Not adding anything other then ph up food h202. Look back a page or two shows my last res change. Ppm is dropping daily ph goes up .2 ish every 24 hrs. Keep in mind it takes 36 hrs for me to get ph to 5.7. Adding about 20 ml a time.
I’ll keep forgetting about vpd being so important about calcium. So will pay more attention to that even if I have to add more heat.
Upping my food or getting different stuff is a must as I’m adding just too much ph down. Even when I premix in totes I ph it to 5.8. Let sit then add to my system 12 hours later I’m at 6.4 even with ph up at 1.5 ml / gallon. Once I finally get it down it is much more stable then in past grows so that addition is a plus.

My vpd gets a little out of Waco as now I’ve switched to 12/12 so at night my temp is 68f with heater on and rh is 55%. With lights on I’m 75-80f with heater on and 58-60% rh. I have a 6” vent fan running on full venting directly outside.
Long bla bla post sorry hope I got it all.
Thanks.

If your not seeing tox up the ppm by 100-200 but pay close attention. How much cal mag and mg sulfate are you adding?

Last fill Monday night was 20 ml calmag to 45 litres of water. I also did 8 grams Mg to the same 45 litre tote. 500 ish ppm food.
New res tonight will be just food 8-900 ish and ph up. Just to see how much ph down I need to add. Trying to reduce that as that’s what’s causing my tip burn I think.
Bubba plant is growing a lot. Compared to last grow so we are on the right track. Did u see the pics a page back?
Thanks again for your help.

Ok kinda feeling we need a reset. How much is the ph swing and which direction is it going?
Once I get it down it increases .1-2 on 24 hrs. That’s with 1.5ml per 5 g ph up. We started at 1 ml per gallon. That was too much. We did 1 ml per 5 gallon that was not enough. Hence 1.5 ml per 5g. That seems to work. Could up it a tad more. Ppm drops 50 every 24 hrs. Hovering around 800 total ppm.

Ok 1.5 per 5 gal ph up.

Add 45ml cal mag and lower mag sulfate to 4grams.

Add 650ppm of nutrients. And keep humidity 55% day and same or lower at night.

Temps over 75f day up to 80 ideally and not lower than 65-68 at night

That should solve the cal issues

45 ml calmag per tote?and 4 grams Mg same per tote. 45 litre tote I use to pre mix. I use two of them. So 90 litres
Thanks

What do use an eye dropper to add nutes?
less is more when it comes to nutes. especially when they get fed daily. unless your plants are eating more than 0.5EC per day, anything more is waste.

i do dtw GH waterfarms (technically rdwc). dtw=no pH problems. fed from a standalone res.
