As a medical professional, weed does have its downs... heart problems being one. BUT, that doesnt mean you cant/shouldnt smoke. It probably isnt even related but it is something that should be looked at. Check this though, i have a heart condition called POTS. No shit guys, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Haha just thought ii should enlighten you guys in the irony...

Don't smoke every day heavily. Inhaling any sort of smoke is not healthy, and your lungs need time to heal. If you can, try every other day. And get a vaporizer.

And if the pain is there for a month I'd get you into see a doctor. And be honest about how much and what you smoke, your doc isn't going to get you arrested.

Well i have concluded by all of these similar events that are effecting us with hart pain. Also the reason for some of you passing out.It is the loss of oxygen..Thats why some of you have passed out in the past, first you get dizzy, then light headed...I have learned that t.h.c is absorbed instantaneously.I always hold my hits for a very long time.I have not had hart pain since i have used the 3 secound rule.HOLD YOUR HITS ONLY FOR 3 SECONDS Thc. should absorb by then..I treid taking tums,it wasnt hart burn.We all are holding our hits to long.Spread the word.thanks to everyone for input..

Yeah, it's something like 99% is absorbed in the first three seconds and another small percentage once you get to 7 seconds and then it's basically all absorbed.

Ok a doctor, great, here's a question ive been dying to ask a stoner doctor for 25 years now.

When your in prison/jail every time you go to see the prison doctor when your fuked up the first thing they ask you is if you smoke,im like wtf doc its a tooth ache, you can go to see them for hemeroids & the first question is always the same,do you smoke.

If you answer yes truthfully they wont even give you an asprin, the diagnosis is always the same, quit smoking & it'll go away,im like how the hell is smoking affecting my hemeroids

Is it just lazy ass doc's or is there a real reason behind this.

i am not a doctor but i have alot of patients! like with your question.Well my convict friend, the doctor asks you if you smoke weed?cigarettes because of the initial smoke going in your mouth via toothache, the hemriods part,i am not sure but it is irrelevant have common sense and say you dont smoke its an easy answer to your question. just remember this tread was on hart pain buddy! so to recap people save the agony of sharp hart pain by not holding in hits to long.In one week your sharp pain will go away,Hold your hits no longer then 3 to 4 sec. thc is absorbed almost instantly.Dont worry your not wasting your weed, you will get just as high, take multiple hits if you want.. :peace:

GOOD ADVICE,but beware growers,if you tell your doctor you smoke weed he could turn around and snitch on you,and if your growing alot of plants that can be risky...tell him you smoke cigarette's or tell him the truth its up to you stoners!bongsmilie

p.s on the real, thanks for the memories brett favre. 1991 to 2008

I dont really have sharp pains by my heart, but I used to and that was before I ever started smoking tobacco or weed. Im pretty sure that was from heartburn. I have minor acid reflux but I used to have it worse and that is nothing to worry about. If u smoke 2 much, or hold it in too long that could have something to do with it too. I smoked cigs/black n milds for a short time period and had chest pain and about 1 week after I stopped all of my chest pain went away. I still dont smoke tobacco at all.

I could also be from anxiety or a panic attack too. I had panic attacks before while I was high (I have bad anxiety sober or high) and it caused chest pain and tightness. I seriously thought I was dying though and thought my life was over and almost went to the ER, but Im happy I never did. I went to a doctor anyways and had a couple tests done and me and my heart are 100% healthy. Just stop smoking tobacco/ cut down on weed dont hold in so long/ and excersize a little and lower anxiety. If u do all those things it is almost guaranteed to go away.

Quick bunch of diagnostic questions for pain, we use SOCRATES:

Site - exactly where is it?
Onset - does it come on gradually or suddenly
Character - describe it, is it sharp, dull, acheing, burning?
Radiation - does it move anywhere?
Associated factors - are you doing anything at the time it happens?
Timing - is it at any particular time of day, after meals maybe?
Exacerbating/relieving factors - does anything you do make it worse or better?
Severity - out of ten, how bad is it?

Tell me a specific answer to each one of these questions and I might be able to give you some insight. The most common cause for this kind of pain is not from the heart. It's more likely to be musculoskeletal or from gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Just tossin it out there... I too get sharp pains to the point of not being able to inhale but for a slight slight inhale. This is actually nothing at all to do w/ my heart though, its just a cramp or "pain" in the intercostal muscles of your rib cage, which control your breathing.

To me, this is what it sounds like. Actual chest pain involving the heart can be followed with dizziness, light headedness, fatigue.

Serotonin is on the right lines, like I said, it's more likely to be musculoskeletal - i.e. from your joints where your ribs meet your breastbone, or muscular, from the muscles you use to breathe.

Cardiac chest pain is usually associated with nausea, sweating and palpitations, and is usually relieved by resting.
