About indoor growing. But im considering running a small set up this winter.

Discalimer: I haven't bought a thing yet. Asking about my set up is futile lol.

A 2x2 or 4x4 tent. Im 6 foot even. I need to feel comfortable to work height wise.

Ask the title states I really have not a clue about indoor growing. Don't know shit about lights. The sun has always been my light. Fans, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, rehumidifiers....... I dont know. Help a brother out.

It will be in a finished garage. Temps will get down to low 40s inside the garage during the winter. High temp might be 65 during the winter.

Humidity is a constant 55%.

Smell isn't a concern. My garage always smells like weed regardless if there is weed being grown or not.

I will be growing in Recipe 420 potting soil. Using fox farms top 3 for nutes.

Going to need guidance on where to put my money.

Light budget? But I'd say get a QB, best lights out now. Hlg or budgeted

For sure tallest tent u can, bigger the better. 2x2 is small, 4x4 is great and dosent mean u have to fill it

Fans, fans, fans for sure. I run a 32" stand up horizontal on a wall in mine, works great. Ratchet straps to lower or raise it

55% is fine, once u add water/soil it will go up

Get errrrrrrr DONE!!!

Can you build a small room around the tent,
because an oil filled heater could handle a small space but not an entire garage?
And the answer really is LIGHTS

Between the tent, lights, fans, and what ever else is needed up to $750.

I only plan to grow one indoor at a time. Its legit for indoor fun during the rainy season lol.

My thought on the 2x2 is less space to fill with light. I probably understand it wrong but the same plant in a 2x2 if put in a 4x4 would need extra light to fill the extra square footage? A 2x2 might not work for me anyway. I dont fit well in real tight places lol

2x2 may not be tall enough

3x3 or 2x4 are good sizes

Some great lights that fit a 2x4

What is the wattage to square space thing I have seen people clammering on about if I may ask?

bob said what I was gonna say about the plants making the Rh go up. So not I gotta think about it and read all the other suggestions before I make an attempt to throw a tip or idea that hasn’t been tossed your way. I will say that while I been grinding hard looking up lighting and what not that UV bars are being used more, and reds are being set up for the Emerson effect. Seen some cool shit on that.

Growing in a 2x2 is like growing in a cabinet. I have mine sitting on top of a chest that puts my tent floor at the height of my knees.. not so bad. A 3x3 or 4x4 should give you plenty of space for a nice size bush.

I would agree that a 2x2 is too small. Get a 3x3 or a 4x4 and you will thank yourself later. As for lighting in the space I would recommend 3-400 w of white led's whether it be cobs or qb. Cmh lights also have a nice spectrum. Like @BobThe420Builder said you need good airflow in the tent. If the smell is not a factor a carbon filter won't be necessary but I would still use a extraction fan and some clip fans in the tent.

Would something like the light you suggested be reasonable for veg and flower? Or would I need 2 different lights?
They have a 4000k for both

This has red and blue led for both veg and flower

If I did that I probably wouldn't need a tent. I could build a light tight small space in the corner and add mylar. Its something to consider for sure.
If you can do that it's definitely something to think about. However a tent is easy to take down in the future if you want to or replace with a bigger one as well. And if you go that route just paint the walls white. No need for mylar. I also wouldn't go any smaller than 4 x 4 for a flower tent. You don't have to fill it completely but you'll be glad you have the extra room. If you build a sealed area in the corner make it big enough so that you have room to get in and work on your plants when you need to. If building, build it as big as you can from the beginning.

Please excuse the mess. Have been installing baseboards and flooring around the house. But that piece of cardboard covers a vent window that goes directly outside. Perfect spot for the tent to draw fresh air from. Thats where it will be getting set up.

Think that will work well? 20201002_110158.jpg

Those huge styrofoam Slabs I seen at Home Depot could be used for walls. It’s already white.. or did u want Mylar for sure? I swear I wish I had the space to play around like you’re about to.
