Good to hear the boat is comin along fdd.

Bout to get the kids together and go get some redfish and trout.

starting to really love it. it's scarey, fun, fast. still haven't pushed it wide open yet.

i think i'm gonna take the wife and kid out for pan fishing as well.

i hit 60 MPH on glassy water yesterday. still had a bump of throttle left, and i could have trimmed it up a little more as well. i think she'll top out at just under 65, but i doubt i'll ride there very much. even with the trim pushing the nose down she still feels like she's floating on air. if i trim it up she starts jumping waves, at 50. :hump:

pulled up on some submerged trees this afternoon. shut the outboard down and dropped the trolling motor. made a long, distant cast to the first group of trees. HUGE splash when my 5 ounce lure hit the water. i closed the bail on the reel and reached down and turned on the trolling motor. that's when i felt the tug. "hmm", i thought, "that feels like a fish". i tugged back and the battle was on. she immediately tried to take me down into the trees. i kept the rod tip high and pressure steady. at one point she was wrapped around something but with a gentle pull to the left i got her free. fought her next to the boat for a minute or two before i could get my hand in her mouth. she's not the 12 pounder i was hoping for, but for my "first swimbait fish" i'm not complaining.

now that i've finally caught a fish on this bait i am more confident then ever. i predict the next ones gonna be over 8 pounds. :eyesmoke: :hump:
