Hygrozyme

They are both great quality products, but GW is much more diverse. Aquashield is probably enough to prevent disease, but if you want to fight disease, go with great white, or better yet, mycogrow soluble, which is identical to great white, from the same lab even, and a bit cheaper. If aquashield is all that is available, it will help and may even cure.

No one said hygrozyme doesn't work in hydro, nor did we say it doesn't prevent disease, we said it tends to make slime worse.

If you use it as part of proper res maintenance it may work just fine, but if you think you can dump it into a slime infected res and cure it, you'll end up sorry.
There is an answer to this problem now. It is called SLF-100 by South Cascade Organics. It is an organic enzymatic formula but it is not sugar based like hygrozyme and will not produce slime. In-fact if you have the slime problem it will take it away I have seen it happen numerous times. This enzyme is specifically designed to break out salts which means it is going to clean your system and make nutes more readily available. It is also replacing the need for salt flush, since it breaks down all the salts in the system. You simply just stop feeding your plant before harvest and all the nutes are used up.

It works well in soil also, check out this youtube video
