Been a bit of interest in this gizmo on my grow journal, so I thought I'd post it up for anyone else who hasn't seen these

Hydometre!!.jpg

A hygrometer, not a hydrometer. Only a £/$ off ebay..
Makes curing our herbage a walk in the park...
Peace

Ha! That's exactly what I'll be doing -- as per A Perfect Cure sticky. It seems crazy to me to spend all this time and money getting a first/second/third grow done and then "wonder" what's going on in those jars, when the answer is just a couple of bucks away.

I'm sure really experienced growers can go by feel, but I'm at least 5 years away from that, so in the meantime the hygrometer will help protect my investment and effort!

Digital is the only way to go, analog hygrometer are hard to adjust, slow to react, easy to break and typically have a higher margin of error.

The better digital brands allow for calibration, but most don't. Go to any cigar store to see the differnet types, usually you get what you pay for....link below to one I trust

many cigar website have instruction on how to calibrate your hygrometer by using wet salt in a sealed zip-lock (see link below).... the humdity will rise to 75.5% then you know how much to compensate

Or there are "one-Step Calibration kits" that make it easy.

I'd just worked out cigar shops were the place to go, after looking at digital hygrometers.
Excellent tip on the salt/water calibration! I'm going to check mine out later...

I recently got the caliber III digital and a Boveda calibration pack just to make sure it was accurate. I use it for my cigars mainly, but i plan on using it as a guide while curing as well. My last harvest got mold so i am nervous this time around.

These things are priceless when it comes to curing your herb properly! I would recommend the Caliber brand as I have 4 of them that work flawlessly after several years now.
