yeah, that is fine... it means that as your ph'ed water passes through the medium it picks up particles and sitting water that are causing the imbalance IN your medium and draining them away...... when growing in soil, the soil medium itself will in part dictate its relative ph depending on how the amendments break down, how well and much the ph neutralizers are mixed in it, and the ph of the water that passes through, nutrient feedings that are ph balanced don't hold the balance if they sit in the medium for a long period of time, they break down (the nutrients) as well as they become soluble for the plant, leaving byproducts behind which causes fluctuations in the ph of the soil. Flushing using well ph'ed water with a low ppm count of disolved salt solids and good EC will draw most excessive wastes out leaving behind a leeched medium ready to allow the roots to once again begin to break down the amendments in the soil and the left over slow release nutrients (like particles of bat guano/earth worm castings etc.) to use as food for photosynthesis and plant development. Maintaining a well balanced medium is one of the keys to a healthy plant. :). If you had a ppm meter you could measure before watering, and measure the runoff to see the difference :)
Man... I feel like i am in science class! Thank you! That helps alot... I need to give you a big ole hug! LoL ;-)

Hubby wants to get one... was there one that you recommend?

Beautiful plants. and very solid set up. did you improvise your grow box or have some instructions on how to build it?
Thank you. If you look in the beginning of my thrad you will see the instructions on how to build it. Read thru the thread tho... I did get some great advice on temp control that should be added to this tent when you build it.

Hey, looking good! Are they showing female yet? Did you take any clones? I just bought a 60-100x scope and man it works wonders with the trichs vs. a 30x scope. I had a hard time seeing clearly the clear, white and amber but not now that I put a black plate behind it. Well worth $12 at radioshack if you don't have one....

Hmm I like the black plate idea. Its kinda hard to use those things if your not steady handed like me. Everytime I get a glimpse my hand twitches and I move it. I'll have to try the black plate method.

Didnt take clones from the BB's. Hubby didnt want to... and they are all fem.

But he did ask me if we did take clones and root them, if they would live for a 12 hour ride to his friend. Any thoughts on that?

they should.... so long as they are in the right conditions when you do..... make sure they are nicely rooted before you make the trip. windows up, A/C on low (or medium depending on how hot it is). DO NOT SMOKE CIGARETTES WHILE YOU DRIVE!!

Sure, just do your best to keep from any stress or big changes to the plants. You get the idea. Like when you hand over the children they keep normal water/light and nut. schedules. I am sure some stress will happen but it should bounce back fine. I wouldn't if possible give away clones while they are in flower only veg.

Thanks for that info. I just ordered the daisy cloner 8 for the NL. Gonna use her as a mother since we only have the one for now.... which reminds me. That website said they were gonna send more seeds... need to email them again. Havent received them yet.

So here is the update on the girls! The BB's are getting super tall. Hubby had 2 wood crate things stacked in the tent... he removed one to lower them. They were too close to the light. So we are slowing raising it if we need too. I dont want them to stretch too bad.

The NL and the bag seed grew! I hadnt realized how big the NL got! She has like 6 sets of leafs on her and I just topped her and the bagseed now... hoping the bag seed is a girl. Thats the only one not fem!

I have a pic of the NL by herself... She is the first pic in the set.

sweet! Looking good now! I would top the side branchs as well as the top.

That cloner looks super! Your going to have to give some notes on your experience with it?

Like the old school genetics your going with but since your getting a cloner spend some money on adding some different strains currently hot and proven. Have you covered the indica, sativa and hybred differences?

Thanks! I will as time goes by... Gonna keep her in veg and start cloning her by the time my cloner gets here. We will need to do some more seed shopping. Anyy thoughts on what is an easy grow and a good smoke?

And No.... haven't gone thru the differences yet. I do recall some and Hubby knows it, but I do need to read on it.

don't top anything in flower... the lower fan leaves will Naturally start to yellow and fall away.... go ahead and give them gentle tugs when they do, if they come off really easy they are ready to come off, if not, maybe its not ready yet ;)....... let them flower..... its part of the early flower cycle for the plants to stretch, its a sign of transition into flower.... I welcome it.... I have started a grow journal in the "grow Journals" section titled "theloadeddragons perpetually growing perpetual grow" if you were interested.... :)

Other than that.... they look perfect.

I am proud of you.

NL is a great indoor performer if you can get a handle on the heat and humidity ;)...... now comes the fun part, you get to stress on all the buds that will start showing up over the next couple of weeks...... please don't be an eager beaver and chop early..... please..... you and your Hubby are making a great team ;)

Thanks Green... and yup! :-P been in flower about 2 almost 3 weeks now. And I believe we have ordered from there before.

Ohh no. Not topping the BB's in flower. I think Relaxed meant topping my NL that is in veg. Since we only have the one NL which is a fem seed due to the bullshit seeds not growing... we'll keep her as a mother and clone her. Then we can grow another round of the NL fems and get them all caught up at the same time, so we switch them to the tent when the BB's are done.

I am most def gonna check out your new thread, I do lurk in your other one a bit. ;-) And thank you! that means alot coming from you! I have to give hubby A LOT of credit right now. He is really the go hard on the labor part of things lately. ;-):bigjoint:

Ohh and yanno what I forgot to mention.... Odor Control!! Whoa.... I cant have company over especially after those lights come on! I guess maybe our exhaust/ intake problem is contributing to that. But I have to figure out how to get a real handle on that.

I remember seeing something before that was supposed to eat odors.. maybe I saw it in the threads, but it was pretty expensive. Like $300 or something like that.

Pick you up a carbon filter and put it on the end of your exhaust. You can pull air through it or push are through it your decision but once you figure which you want to do don't switch it around.
