True true, everything looking good so far cept that. Also the soil looks a bit muddy not letting it dry out fully inbetween waterings? Let the top of the soil look dry and crunchy before watering again, especially in this stage. Anyways I'm scribed good luck on the third go around.

Oh, if your going to pick up some more big pots check out the 4 gallon plastic trash cans at walmart. they are square so space is used well. drill holes in the bottom/sides and they have a perfect handle...all for around 2 bucks....

did you use the paper towel to trick to start the germ? Planting seeds in 3 gal. pots to start isn't the best way. Too big a pot for such small plants. Leaving room for error here unless your a very seasoned grower and they would still tell you it's too big. When you get the OF soil pick up some one gal grow bags from hydro store and dixie cups from reg. store.

should go from paper town to dixie cup then to one gallon and then to 3 or 5 gallon pots. a week or 2 before flower or when they anounce female imo. Having big pots and small plants leads to overwater, underwatering and nut burn issues in plants.

Ahhhh... ok. We didnt do that with the first grow... but whatever will work best we will try. No, my husband did the paper towel thing the very first time. Now he just sits them in a cup of covered water in a dark place till they pop. I think that 3 of these are in the CocoTek Liner starter cups with the hole in the bottom. Should I just remove them and sit them out on their own? and transplant the others that are not in the cups? Thanks for the advice!!

Thanks Green! I had just spoken to my husband and he said that he did mist them this am. I know when we mixed the soil, we did get it real moist before planting.

Man... I am loving the feedback! Thanks Guys! Good lookin! Much rep to you all!

go ahead and keep going the way you are with these seeds since they may have sprouted already. If you start some more research the paper towel germ. Moist not wet. When the tails show in the paper towel to about an 1/8 inch in length plant tails down...Water the dixie cup soil before transplanting seedlings (ph 6.5 from beginning on). Use a toothpick make a hole 1 inch deep. tail down and put a tiny layer of soil on top. Water again and your most likely good till she/he shows.

Thanks my dude... as soon as my NL's come I am gonna utilize all this great info and get them started. I have been reading books and high times to gather info and then wifey is on here trying to gather a bit more. We should have started this journal first time 'round!

The grow tent...

Ok this post will be worked on and edited as I go. For the most part this is what you will need;

1. Eleven 1''x 2'' x 8' pieces of wood, approx $2 each @ lowes

2. Panda Film: 10' w x 20' long, hydro store approx $1.50 per ft.

3. Staple gun & staples

4. Wood screws, 1 1/2'', approx 22

5. Twelve 4'' metal "L" brackets, comes with 1/2'' wood screws

6. Eight 4'' Straight Brackets

7. roll of black velcro

I cut 4 pieces of my 8' ft wood down to 7ft. I then cut 7pieces in half for 4ft. each. I then framed out the top and bottom of the tent . Afterward adding each 8ft to the corners of the frame. I then added the support beams in the center around 3 sides with the brackets, leaving one side open for entry. On the top portion of the tent I added two of the 4' side by side to support my light.

Once the frame was assembled, we then took the panda film and "wrapped the tent like a xmas present." Stand the panda film up width wise leaving about 6-8'' at the bottom in the front of the tent .No more than that because you will need to fold over the top like the side of an xmas gift Start the film approx @ 1' from the right side, and staple just the top while rolling the film toward the left. Once you get to the left side of your tent, readjust your film to make sure it is even and begin to staple around the top a bit and smoothing and pulling toward the bottom and stapling there too. This part takes some patience. Continue this until you return to the front. Once you get t the front, continue to staple past your first point. Going toward the left side again. You want to overlap it so that you will cause a V shape to help keep put the light when closed. After ward fold over the top as you would a present and pull it tight while smoothing and staple to the tops of the wood as well as the center support beam.

Using a razor you can cut the corners and fold them under the floor beams and staple them into the inside of the tent, but only around the 3 sides and not the front. Using the velcro, you will want to stand inside the tent and secure the opening and then again on the outside so no light enters. Be sure to pay close attention to the folds at the top too. Making sure no ligt is getting in.

I also used some hook screws to support my light as well as a few other things. I will add some more pictures so it can be a bit more helpful.

:blsmoke:
Hope this helps!

Damn that is pretty nice bro!!!! Nice work +rep on that. I wish I could build my own. I like the ability to be able to break the grow tent down within 30 minutes. When I own my own house I'll probally be doing something like although a bit bigger in length.

Thanks guys! We thought about the pre-made... But like you said Green, we had the extra room, so we figured we would save some money. I do wonder tho if the pre_made helps out more with odor control? Hmmm...:weed:

Hmmm.... dunno on that one although I'm pretty sure as long as the rooms cubic feet doesn't exceed your fan/filters "rated" cfm you should be good. Your gonna want close to double of the amount if you get what I'm saying. And that big'ol scrubber looks like she will do the job nicely.

Uh oh looking a bit stretched drop the light down on them a bit more. They should stay pretty small for the first two weeks and then shoot off.

I am gonna look into an air purifier. I know at one point it had the house kicken! and you cant have company or anything else with that smell!

How far do you think they should be from the light as of now? I am gonna prop them up on some boxes. I dont know if the chain is long enough to drop it longer. Gonna ask hubby about that. Thanks!!!

Ya carbon filtration is a must with plants that size. It deffinately brings peace of mind. Your running a what 400, 600, 1000? I don't remember. I got my 400 right at 18 inches away. My tent is also ALOT smaller than yours it is a 2x2x5'3" thats alot of lumens for 4 sq ft lol. I'm still doing alot tweaking so this should a fun process.
