yes but HTG isnt supporting illegal hobbies. this is equipment often used to grow vegetables and whose to say thats not what we are growing??i dont think that this is anything new for any growing related site, whether we are talking about seed or equipment and supplies. and to play devils advocate thats the chance that you take when your buying supplies to support our illegal hobby/profession. they know it and we know it, so if they are able to put up with a little bad word of mouth what do they care?
personally i have only ordered once from them and was completely satisfied when my stuff arrived.
and btw i like to use my U.S. House of Representatives logo lighter when i smoke
seeds are illegal if you dont have your MMJ license. if you have your MMJ license its legal to buy them but not legal for the bank to sell them to you!

they aren't but what are you going to do? file a complaint with the Better Business Burea and tell them that the 1000W HPS that you bought to grow pot with with didnt work and they wouldnt exchange it!I didnt know lights were illegal

they know that nothing will happen to them because that light your buying is for pot and they can ship you a broken light and the most you can do is complain to your stoner friends how much they suck

I get where your comming from but its just bad buisness. I know that had they not done me wrong a few times I would order alot more stuff from them.
its like anything else in life, why sell somone somthing once when you can have them come back again and again? I know theyve made at least 1000 off me and I had a 50/50 good bad with them, I would have spent easily twice that if I thought I had a better chance.
only a year ago they had good quiality and good prices, I dont know what happend since then

No this issue is almost elclusively related to HTG.
they are one of the biggest distributors in the country for hyroponic and growing equipment.
For some reason they send out a lot of defective merchandise, alot.
20x that of other places.
It really is 50/50 with these guys.
other companies seem to make honest mistakes, HTG seems to make intentional mistakes.
That wont stop me from buying from em though.
However if you really ever have a problem with em like fdd did, just intiate a chargeback on a credit card and hope it gets resolved.

maybe your right, i dont have enough experience with them specifically to really know, but people should still go into it with their eyes open. its like people who complain about ordering seeds and never get them for whatever reason. its good to let other people know about suppliers and give appropriate feedback so that other growers will have an idea of who is legit or not, but i just hate when people start whining and bitching for the sake of bitching.
if i ordered seeds from Dr Chronic and didnt get them i would let other people know and not order from them again, but dont act like they are stealing from you when your doing something that is illegal in most cases to begin with. its part of what all growers have to deal with on a regular basis, and until it is legal across the board, not just in certain states in certain circumstances, there will be no accountability for these suppliers outside of bad word of mouth. but thats just my opinion, i could be wrong

I have ordered from them 3 times and so far they are batting a thousand. I still like to shop around though because sometimes they don't have the lowest prices on things.
i wrote him a nice detailed description of exactly what my issue was. i even included pics. i felt this was a better way to communicate. can you understand stoned fdd trying to describe his problem over the phone? dude, you can't. i'd confuse the hell outta ya. i'm funny like that.

I know what your saying, but even my mumbled halfass descriptions of strange sounds that scare me somhow get me help but my emails of the same rambling incoherence dont seem to work at all, ever! so I just call them now, I never know what I'm going to say, but it seems that they somehow do thats the only thing I can say that their really good at, answering the phone well and being able to hold a conversation with me

And maybe your shits illegal, but buddy we have all our permits in line, and can LEGALLY order whatever we want.

Hey guys, Sucks that happened to you tckfui. I would never buy stuff like this online. Anything electrical i like to purchase local. Its the same ol same ol.... you send old broken shit and if half dont send it back then you are making some real profit.
In any case ... electrical equipment is easier to break in shipping. In some cases you are talking connections that are less than 1mm small... Especially the cheaper you go. Most of these products come with up to a year warranty and i would not want to have to ship back and wait two weeks for my light to get here... 20 dollars (or actually almost the same if you add the shipping) for me to have the piece of mind that within 30 minutes i can have new shit is just a big breather.
you know that guy that stated a difference between 240 and 360... ? I would like to actually compare the products side by side as well... HTG and other web sites have these economy ballast that are crap for that price range. You are not getting name brand shit... and then if you say that you dont care about name brand... then you should really just search how to wire a ballast and buy the parts yourself... it really isnt that hard and you are saving tons of cash... let alone the coolness of running two lights on 1 ballast... hehehhe... anyway... this is just my opinion and take it as you wish... Good luck with the grows.

I think your wrong... Regardless if its legal or not... if you have the balls to sell me a product it better be working... If my old dealers would have sold me oregano instead of AK47 claiming to be ...they would have got shot quick. Legal or not.. you should be able to run a business respectably.

And here is my local hydro store cheapest 1000 watt ballast for $360.00

Now given the difference between the two is that the local stores product is not a name brand it is Xtrasun, and HTG's is Growbright a economy version.
BUT if you start doing upgrades to the reflectors, bulbs, ect the LOCAL places price gets ridiculous where as HTG's prices for upgrade are GREAT!!!
Also for $240 as a base price you cannot buy a Reflector, 1000 watt lightbulb, Socket set, and Ballast, and Ballast housing for less than they can sell it as a package ANYWHERE.
Thats why they come in packages.
90%of hydro stores in the country rip people off, after all they are there to make money off the few sales they get a month, HTG is there to make money while selling BULK, and they are even a local shop.
BUT if you look at HTG, you see that even if you pick it up in person they still charge you shipping.
