Hows this grow setup?

I'm running a 4x2x5 growtent
I also am using a 1500w LED light with every spectrum but green. How far should I keep the light from the plant. Will this light work or is this to much?
For soil I am using foxfarm ocean forest.
And for the nutrients I am using dynagrow grow, and dynagrow bloom.
But will this LED light work and how far should I keep it from the plants?

A 1500 watt light in a 4 x 2 room with a 5 foot ceiling. You need about 5 more feet of ceiling. If you meant 500 watt I would say about 2 feet away.
 
Led wattage is always different to what they tell you on the box in reality, 1500 w is probably the supposed equivalent but draw will be a lot less , maybe half , if your lucky, still it's strong and led likes distance ul probably need to have it three foot away easy which doesn't leave much room with the led stretch. Ul have to experiment and find where it likes it. No dimmer??? Strange on such a big light.

Yeah you should be ok , those lights won't be anywhere near equivalent to real 1500 w output, be suprised if it's even three hundred watts. Iv looked at them before, I went with a vioarspecta when I considered jumping ship to led, considered quantum boards also but the yields are not great compared to hps, better looking weed though, all these wattages they spout are not true representations of what they can achieve yield wise, as you would know with hps, 600 = possible 600 g or more etc.start a couple of feet away soon as you see bleaching move more, or start to stretch too much closer
 
The description states about 270w from the wall.. so at most this light will be as efficient as a 250w hps.. this light is old blurple and one of the reason people hate LED.. there is much more efficient LED available (look in the LED section of this forum). Its probably in the 18 inch range during flower for your light but youll have to test it out and see how your plant react to it..

Its 150 x 10w diodes. That's where they get that magical and misleading figure.
You would think these companies would of learned by now.

I used to tell the ladies I had a 9" pork sword. I learned quick enough from all those disappointed faces ,mind you by then they were already laid out legs a Kimber... Albeit it in fits of laughter! :eyesmoke:
 
What I mean is that the manufacturer (or seller) for the light knows exactly how misleading it is. Advertised as a 1500W while intentionally knowing it only puts out 270W or whatever. Yes, the LEDs can HANDLE 1500W total, but they aren't run at that wattage... and they know that. Will it work? Sure. Is it optimal? Nope.
In a 4x2 I would run 2 of those lights.

Put it this way if you want a decent led it should be pulling a bit more than half of what its rates. Like my LEDs are pretty much a 1000 watt equivalent a piece but each pull 600ish watts front the wall. If I built a 1500 watt equivalent it would easily pull 7-800 from the wall.

is there anyway ways to get the light to pull harder

Why would it have to be half of the rated power? Why not the rated is what you get ? Take exemple of HLG QB boards.. they tell you 260w 2 boards well guess what if you turn them on you get 260w of power!! Its not that complicated.. yes to match a 1000wHPS you probably need 550-650w of Efficient LED (like samsung lm561c) but to match a 1000w HPS with blurple youre looking for about 1000w of actual power (from the wall) of LED as they are at most as efficient as HPS

They use cheap driver so I wouldnt not want to run them harder.. youre risking also to burn the diodes (already that many report issues with burn diodes within few grows)..also running them harder probably makes them even more ineficient .. id look into better unit rather than trying to pimp those purple light my 2 cents

Well yah hlg and timber as well as many other good companies will give you exactly what your paying for. I have 3 of hlhs 600h lights and some that I built. I was simply giving the OP some guidelines on the LEDs wattage this way he can hopefully avoid wasting his money in the future. The whole equivalent thing is confusing for some people. It's simply shady business practice on their part.
