1 cup Garden Tone
2 gallons of organic soil
1/2 gallon perlite
2 tablespoons diatomaceous earth

and water with only half tap water, half distilled water

This is a very woody soil I think. But it is cheap and the tone should give it a boost. Is this a functional plan?
I like it but whats the diatomaceous earth in the mix for if I may ask?

only about $11 a bag to. its a fucking steal

That ain't a steal, that's about what happy frog costs at a grow store...hit menards or home depot and get the 4 cubic ft bags of pro mix...they will order them if they don't have them.

Or 3-4 cubic ft bags of peat moss are cheaptoo.

the cheap shit at home depot is super woody. I used it and ended up transplanting into better soil.

Id recommend this! Add some perlite and other stuff. I add epsom salt, dr. earth dry fert, and peat moss if i have it.

This is also the soil I use and home depot carries it.

There are earthworm castings, kelp meal and fish bone in the mix as well which is great!!!!
Ive seen Dr Earth at Home Depot but never paid attention to it. A little research and it seems like a quality starting point. Do you have any photos of it in action?
