Looking good! Come on Dusk! haha
I think you should be fine tucking under for a couple of weeks in to flower just take extra care not to damage them.

I think she just grew a cm from that haha

Ok good to know I do have that option just in case, thanks!

I'll be going easy on them in the next few days until new moon too,
just tucking & weaving and not removing anything (bar the clone candidates.. ok, and really bothersome leaves that just have to go :-D)
At new moon I'll clear out whatever is left of undergrowth and then we'll see where we're at!

Be good to see, this is my first time scrog so I'll be watching closely to pick up any tips! Do you follow the 4 way LST technique? I have always done this apart from using a scrog screen.
What strain/s did you do on your first grow?
I like how you use the moon as a measurement of time! Haha

I'm almost embarrassed to show mine after seeing your room and plant Calliandra,sprouted20151205_071717.jpg 20151205_071642.jpg 3 bag seeds and all 3 are females.2 are more of a mix and 1 is more indica dominate imo, mine were mature showing hairs when they reached the screen let them veg awhile longer to fill up the screen more then switched to 12/12 just short of a week ago...this is my second grow and first scrog so fingers crossed i never weaved i just kept moving new growth over to try and keep them horizontal, screen is at 24 "looks crowded but time will tell i guess .good luck with your grow..

Yep 4 way it was, though tis kind of a 6-7 way as I didn't remove the growth from the node below where I first topped (and I half FIMMed Dawn so her first topping resulted in 3 branches lol). Next round I do think I'll be removing those, no matter how well they seem to be doing, as they've contributed to the cramped situation I've got now...
So I really look forward to seeing how you do your LST on your finnicky princess, I'm thinking it will be revelatory for me

My first grow was a disaster by grower error - I had 3 Superskunk autos from Whitelabel and started them in very subpar soil under very subpar lighting, so they couldn't grow much root mass, subsequently could not grow much, and - stubbornly as autos do - went into bloom at a plant height of 10cm haha --- horrid grow! Great weed! Just, microamounts of it haha
Which is why I would never recommend an auto to first time growers - they give you practically no leeway for correcting mistakes ;)

As for the moon, don't you go thinking medieval there :-P
Actually, I look to the moon less in terms of time than in terms of its effect on life, here, specifically that of plants. At full moon, the plant is fully focused on her upper growth, whilst at new moon, her energy is in the roots.

So leaf growth speeds up after the new moon, as energy is refocused on growth above ground = good time to defoliate.

But at full moon itself, removing stuff from the top of the plant will stunt its growth, and in the case of trees in springtime can make them prone to sicknesses and even make them die off.

After full moon, as the energy starts to recede back into the roots, is another good time to defoliate, as new leaves will still develop quickly.

Nearing the new moon (where we are now), leaves grow more slowly, as the plant focuses more on growing out her roots.

And then.. we come full round and it all starts over haha
And dam, you've sent me headways into another rant LMAO
Cheers! :bigjoint:

Oh -- fashionable headdress you got yourself there BTW! :-P

Oh but yours look lovely and nicely spread out to me! that is if you don't have any further branches under that canopy that want out :-P

Are those 24" from the ground or from the top of your pot?
So your screen is more like loosely holding your branches apart, the way I see it from the pix?
And for how long did you veg them?:weed:

The screen is 24" from floor. Fimmed and vegged approx 2 months from seed i have been slowly defoliating lower branches a bit at a time and yes there are more shoots just poking through.I tried to keep them sort of spaced evenly but easier said then done as like i said i never tied or weaved.the More indica dominate one i should have never fimmed gonna be lots of tops and very congested but slowed the stretch considerably.

I don't have a plan for this one! Just going to keep tying down and see how the grass lies!

My grow before my first grow was also Autos (I don't like to class it as a grow lol).
Red Poison, Auto Frisian Dew and Pink Salad. They were meant to have been going outdoors but kept having set backs with weather and stuff so I ended up doing them inside under a 200w Chinese shite LED. Didn't really know what I was doing, had heat and ventilation issues. They were all around 30cm tall and I got an ounce off the lot. Terrible grow and I don't like talking about it! lol

And very interesting information, it took some bloody reading but very interesting lol
And not sure if this is a daft question or not, but does the moon still affect things even when the plants are indoors under artificial lighting?
And you can carry on ranting, you're keeping me entertained!
Also thank you, tis the season and all that!! ;)

Just keep tucking the top's under the screen till about the end of week 3 ,or more than likely till the table is full ,i would say 2 week and the table will be full, then let it do its own thing by this time the table,It will be full of nice tops that will grow nice and dense bud's,I tie them down using plastic coated wire,But only very lose don't wanna strangle the top's look's very healthy though good luck,

I topped them several times. Lst, and super cropped them. I started at the 5 node. With the stretch I was concerned about height. I could have waited for them to go taller before training them. I learned a lot with this grow. Next time 8-)
That is the main goal good smoke but learning all the time,i bought two of those fan's there not very good are they or is that ok better with a wall mounted one,12" get the plant moving and keep's the air moving in the room,i have gone from the fan you got in the picture to a small wall mounted one in my veg room and 2 x 12" ones in flowering room far better, but it may just be the one i have,

Sooo.. yes! I took a deep breath and switched to HPS/flower CFL and 12/12, leaving the screen that bit up higher. Added a handful of neem meal as there was a fungus gnat doing a solo flying act in there and watered them nicely.

This is how they look today, on day 1 of stretch:View attachment 3554105

I'm keeping a detailed journal on this grow and yes it makes sense to count the stretch until flowers appear as a separate phase, so I'll do that and post updates of how they develop as I tuck and weave and thin :)

Thanks guys for your encouragement and holding my hand on this - tis greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
Looking forward to seeing this around week 8/9 of flower do like the haze craze

Haha, ok then I'll look to see how your grass lies too

Looks like we've now both unveiled our darkest growing moments, lets throw some mulch over that lol
Oh! actually I've got one more up my sleeve, but I'll only give up that one over some wager in the distant future :-P

No it's a good question, as it gives me the opportunity to rant on, albeit briefly haha
The influence of the moon is not the light itself so much as the changes in the gravitational field of the Earth depending on its position in relation to the sun - which we then see as different shaped "moons" :eyesmoke:

Think tides, think how tide intensity changes with the phases of the moon. The moon has a pull on water, and there is water in plants - and us all ;)
Hence the influence of the moon in all sorts of matters. And why I like to pay attention when doing stuff with my plants - not dogmatically, just when I think on it. Just goo with the flow, instead of against it :leaf:

cheers!
