YAY yesterday was closet armageddon :bigjoint:

Dawn's trichs were looking good enough:

The lower regions were less ready, but ready enough to not warrant leaving them on for another few days:

One last glimpse before chop, ah she was looking ruffled and ready to go :weed:

Documenting it all went downhill after we had a nice smoke of the scissor-resin

But the hanging up part was really a visual trip and lots of fun too

610g wet weight off Dawn - minus a handful of budparts that came off during trimming, which we decided not even to weigh as they're going to get smoked soon enough ;)
And some 80g trichome-rich trim, which will get canna-oiled I think.

Oh and Dusk got finished off in the end too, we didn't even bother weighing haha, maybe another 3-4g dry - those last buds from the undergrowth were really fluffy

Last week's harvest - the rightmost clothes hanger in the closet pic - has come down to 24g, in part due to drying but also because 4 of the 17 colas met a quick-drying, quick-smoking fate lol
:fire:
It's now at 74% RH and set to cure slowly with 62% Boveda packs.

slightly woozie cheers! :bigjoint:
Excellent work... Looks like I'm next! :bigjoint:

And here it is, the whole harvest (minus a few tidbits here and there ;) ) back in the closet where they grew

2016-02-21 (2).JPG
When I air the jars I'm turning on the vent so I keep the odours under control - at the mo they're almost overwhelming ;) I guess that will subside in a week or so... it will be time to start a new couple of ladies then too!

SO the grand total! =180g
Dawn -- the 6 jars on the left -- added up to 150g
Dusk -- the 3 to the right -- contributed 30g
she was smaller than she looked -- that became clear when I harvested her.
Also, I do believe Dawn would have yielded the total (and more) alone had she had the space to grow out more - lesson definitely learned!

Whew!
All's well that ends well, eh :bigjoint:
Thanks again to everyone who stopped by, held hands in scary situations, gave wise advice, expanded my horizons and cheered me on when I was sceptical!
I'm pretty sure this grow would have turned out a bit differently without you! 8-)
Cheers!:leaf:

Really nice harvest!!
I wonder in your whole cycle. Do you pull the fan leaves that black beaches for buds?

Also growing in net. I'm into 4 weeks, I can tell I would not harvest as much as you did.
Trying to figure it out. If you can share your experience to me that would be awesome.

Happy grow

What I did is pretty much documented in this thread - check it out and feel free to ask if you have questions, I'll do my best to answer them ;)

Yes, I did defoliate - and lots too, to help side branches grow up into an even canopy, before I switched to flower.
It was a good thing in my situation, because the whole grow was influenced by the mistake I made of planting 2 into a pot & the space meant for only one. Also, I had my lights too far down in early veg, so the plants grew very bushily - it was tight! lol

A while into flower, the plants started defoliating themselves - that was an effect of their not having enough space in their roots to maintain all of their leaves.

By the way the leaf drop stopped when I started watering them juust a little every day. My explanation is that because I have a no-till soil and thriving soil food web, the more constant ideal conditions allowed the microorganisms to actively provide nutrients more constantly too. Just as an aside haha

Anyway, I didn't defoliate in flower.
I had lots of budsites actually in the screen that were shaded by the leaves above.
But I didn't want to lose too much of the leaf mass, since the leaves are needed for photosynthesis - which gets the whole nutrient cycle going. No food, no flowers ;) So I decided to stay on the non-invasive side of things and just let them do their thing.
Was that better than if I had removed them? I don't know, but I'm happy with the results :bigjoint:

Lovely! :weed:
I really like the dark reddy/orange colours on the buds!
And I agree, Dawn would have probably yielded more on her tod, but it would have been plain evil to have killed Dusk! lol it is definitely a learning curve, and we all will learn something new on every grow, at least it is fun learning!
180grams eh? I am a bit gutted that I guessed 177grams, I was way out! :P
Well done on a great grow, I've enjoyed following along and seeing it unfold, and Thank You for sharing it with us all! Here's to the next one!
Cheers (:

Thanks for your reply with that much detail!
Sorry I didnt go through all thread before I ask. It take me times to read in English, but I definitely will go through this thread.

I think what you did, really point out the mistake I made.
I did not defoliate when veg, in about three weeks into flower, I pull off almost every fan leaves.
this is what she look right now

Wish I can have my scorg like you did. really good thread also, I am going to finish rest of it right now.

Yep they're still changing in aspect whilst curing.. if I understand correctly the chlorophyll is supposed to fade with time too (on my first "grow" I didn't get to cure that long haha)

LOL yeah actually, we were joking around whether to "reduce" the yield so it matched your 177 perfectly haha -- but my son won over, since he had tipped 180 a while back and wanted to be the winner
Of course, neither of you were correct to the gram, since 4 colas went "missing" right after harvest -- but hey close enough! I'm really impressed, since I do not have that gift of being able to eyeball amounts :p

Yep once the chlorophyll has more or less faded, it will be a nice light green or greyish colour depending on the strain! I'm going to cure a nice big bud and stash it away for ages to see how good it gets!
Well, well done to him, I'm not a sore loser! lol
Where did those colas get to?!!
Is it too early yet to do a smoke report?

haha the ongoing smoke report states that they're getting better daily :p
Dusks buds were good to smoke pretty much right away but are improving in smootheness and richness of high.
Dawn is strong but a bit harsh and makes me not want to smoke her much before she settles a bit.
So, maybe in 1-2 weeks, I'll do a test smoke with a friend or so
Will report back!
Cheers :bigjoint:

Haha cool, tis noted :P

Actually, I think I've tripped myself on the canna oil thing - I froze the sugar leaves from Dusk thinking ice hash and then added Dawns cuttings to it... so now, I really don't know lol
you have to decarboxylate the weed for the thc to become effective since the oil apparently doesn't reach that temperature for long enough -- but when the leafage thaws, it'll go mush :o
ladida I think I messed that one up :bigjoint:
It will be OK. I freeze my trim to and then bake then canna oil.

No prob. Your in for some fun. It takes a couple or few batches to get the kinks worked out. Remember sometimes it can take a couple hours before the full effects hit you from edibles. I've screwed up a couple times and had too much. Lol. It can be uncomfortable and a little scary.
I make a vegetable glycerin concoction with sugar leaves. The glycerin has a natural sweetness to it,with no flavors.I add a teaspoon of the concoction to a cup of hot water and It makes a very plesant herbal tea that keeps me medicated for about 4-6 hours.Sometimes ill use bud as well, the fun part is figuring out how strong your current batch is...so I start out with less and see how I feel in 2 hours.Lets just say I learned from experience to start low dose and work up..lol
