Growers already get a bad rap as it is , were not a bunch of criminals . Well for the most part anyway , unless someone is commiting criminal acts like stealing power . They will probably get caught and it will be in the paper and the gen public can say that were all a bunch of crooks . What the fuck is wrong with people , pay your bill c'mon man . $10,000.00 fine for stealing power where I am plus 5 years in jail possibly. Hmm lets see I pay around $3500.00 a year for power . Please watch a documentary about Tesla or read some books. He is the person who invented our current electric system, alternating current, even in the face of the greedy Edison pushing his Direct Current. Telsa was trying to create free power but his funding was pulled once the person supplying the money realized he wouldn't be able to make money off it... I mean if you can't make money off everyone why do it right? Besides that Tesla had many, many patents, and designed the 1st electric motor....the same design our dams use to create electricity today. He designed the first remote control, controlling an RC boat... the list goes on and on. Tesla WAS a "genius", fact. Not only was he a genius but he devoted himself to helping people rather than exploiting them to make money.

I'm going to agree with most guys on this thread that this is a bad idea. From what I have seen the majority of indoor grows that get busted are for stealing electricity. The meter readers know what they are looking for and will eventually catch on to what you are doing. Then they will call the cops and they will have a standing warrant to raid your home. Just not worth the added risk. I'd say look into alternative lighting if you are that concerned about your bill.

Power companies dont give a fuck about what you pay, they make money on it. They do however care if you steal the shit.

If you are at 800/month then you are growing to sell, and make plenty of fucking money.
Hell my bill doesnt even break 300 yet, and I sell it medically.

Not to mention if you get caught stealing power they will question why you were stealing it to begin with and they you'll be in trouble...where as if you just pay your bill they don't really take notice of if it goes up a little..maybe you got a roommate..or bought a huge TV...lol. Pay the bill and no flags are raised..you go around sticking needles into power meters and you will be made in no time..

do not steal? would you want someone to steal your plants? this is the way i look at it. everyone has a crop theirs happens to be elec. so pay your bills and be done with it.( to be honest smart people can find ways around the limiting point without being obliviously illegal)
a couple good ways to do that i have done personally
rent to town home next to each other and use the elec from both meter.
rent a house next to a business a friend owns and run elec from there discretely in addition to your own elec.
