if you have an annalog meter on your house.simply drill a hole with the smallest bit you have at the 5 oclock position on the side glass of the meter(very carefully),and shove a sowing needle throuth the hole in the glass ,up into the gears of the meter.this stops the meter from crancking ,then about 10 days befor the meter reader comes to read.simply remove the needle and the meter will run again.the key is figureing out when to pull the needle so as to keep your bill around where it always was befor you started growing. shuckins what can i say ,i'm a fucking genius. it really works perfectly!!!!!!!!!!! good growing my fellow rebels of the herb.

They may notice it they may not, but if you have no experience you will screw it up and it won't read a thing in which case a thorough check is done to see if it has been tampered with.

The normal way would be to divert the supply before it enters the meter, this would have the advantage of not having to tamper with the meter itself or causing damage to the meter that could be noticed, by drilling a hole in it lol
also by diverting the power you are able to maintain a normal usage that you pay for, and a separate free usage for you growing needs
which allows your bills to appear like any regular amount of consumption

I would personally advise against stealing power in any way. It's just not worth it. I've heard MANY stories of ppl getting busted this way. Just do the initial math, and keep your consumption at a reasonable level. Thats my 2 cents anyway

LOL! He has a valid point! I just don't trust the power company to protect my info. Like anyone could call and find out how much power you are using if they were smart about it. I could just be paranoid, but it's better to be safe imo.

I agree with you 100% but if someone plans on pinning the metere this is a federal offence aswell. Why not got the whole hog and jump the power. You`ll still get stung the same if you get caught.
I don`t recommend doing either. Just grow and pay the bloody bills.

Also know that when you steal you put a negative spin on our industry, and that's the kind of shit that we are all up against. I guess not everyone cares whether or not you steal money from a huge corporation, but doing that kind of shit just makes the Electric companies find new ways to make money. Most of the time the way they make new money is to rip everyone off; plus I used to live on welfare as a child and thieves just make me fucking sick man. If you want to lower your electric bill without stealing just buy a generator, buy light movers, or switch to lower wattage specific NM regulated lighting, such as aquarium fluorescent lighting or even L.E.D.s. Just don't talk about stealing like it's ok to do.

1st:drilling glass takes a special bit and special touch. Most likely you are going to shatter the glass cover.

aye well you take your fuckin 10 pence worth and talk fucking sense, they do not know how much is going in to a street. more than one street will share a transformer, all they will know is there is a power leak as the usage and bills for the area do not tie up, this has been going on since the first meters were installed in homes, that is why they will get the police if you do not give them access to read your meter and you have not been paying any bills. if you bypass your meter by taking a feed from the main cable for your grow area and pay the normal usage on your house, how the fuck do you propose they find out!!! with some sort of space age fucking space ship, if you spend $250 or £250 a year on power, and they read your meter and the meter reads $250 or £250, how the fuck can they prove you are stealing it.

people were drilling holes in meters in the fucking 1970s when i was a kid you fucking balloon, don`t you think the power company has not may i quote said to the meter reader " check the meter for security flaws, the main cable for a connection, and the meter tails and seals for signs of tamper" are you trying to get people in to trouble with the law.
the only way to steal electric power is to cut in th the main cable when it is live by stripping it back with special tools and gloves and taking a feed from it to a new consumer unit (fuse box).
or buying electric meter seals and pliers from ebay, removing the main fuse, take a feed from the rear of the fuse box while it is not live by drilling it at 5mm and inserting feed tails of 25mm and there is a special way of tightening them to stop electric arcing , then re-sealing the fuse with the seal and pliers, but this is a professional job and cannot be done by a layman.

you are in for a big fucking shock, the company always waits around a year before reporting the theft to police to get you charged for electric meter theft, that way the bills and amount of money you have stolen in that time warrants a court visit, a newpaper article on it, repayment on the ESTIMATED stolen electric power usually around the $8000 mark for a grow room so it reches the newspapers etc not including the weed grow, it gets to the general public where the penalty you recieve will be up to the judge depending on your previous record, first of all you will recieve a criminal record, second, your neighbours and everybody will be whispering behind your back at work, thirdly the cost of the $8000 electric bill, which if you do not pay back you will be sent to prison. and believe me when your arse is twitching in the dock you will be praying they make you pay it back and dont sentence you to a year in the tin pail.

You better get your facts straight asshole. I work for Consumers Energy and we can narrow power lose to a 1/4mile square area on the grid within an hour. Transformers have little to do with it. Its the monitoring meters installed throughout the grid that gives us the info we need.
