how to get bigger colas?

Your plants look well.......A couple of grows ago I started lst as soon as I could.....I ended up with pants very similar to yours.......the end result was loads of rock hard medium size colas that yielded much the same as my taller plant's(no lsting)......so my thoughts on this method of growing are......lsting gives you small bushy plant's with imo better quality buds........non lsting but using the topping method equals bigger buds but quality is a fraction down compared to lst.......

how does the quality change. ? Tying a branch down and topping is about the plant sending auxins to the top of the plant. It has no effect on quality ot genetics. You can still lst and grow 5 foot tall plants. Some strains like one method more than the other.

They do look nice and bushy. Id be more concerned about blasting it with light than pruning. Like budman111 said, more light equals more bud. I dedicate 400 watts or more per 5 gallon pot. I find side lighting really helps the lower smaller flowers to ripen at the same rate as top colas.
ok...ty...get my 600 right on em then...close as possible I mean????

you do not want your light close. Otherwise you will bleach your plants and stunt growth. About 18-20 inches from canopy is the sweet spot. Hitting 800-1050 µmole/s
whats the radius on 20 inch? next grow commin up..have lot plants goin in this time...whats best height on 4 ft square off the tops 20 still?

depends on the hood. Roughly 3x3 - 4x4.
.
Height isn't based around coverage but overall maximum efficiency so the plants get the right amount of light. The more area you try to cover the less light the plants get. The light produces the same amount of photons regardless of height / radius.

I would like to see a 5ft tall plant that has been lsted from the get go......also the plant DOES NOT have to expell all its energy for the stretch instead it is sent straight to the buds..hence the reason for getting rock hard buds......think about it......then correct me if I'm wrong......although I no I'm not....Pics of this monster you describe would be nice...........................here's a pic of some plants I've had to lst due to height restrictions.........and yes they r 5ft tall.......

density has nothing to do with training. Its genetics and environment. I get the same rock hard buds if I top multiple times, mainline, lst, or Christmas tree style. I do every method. Some take better to one method than the other. I have a 3 foot tall animal cookies that's been lst'd for 2 months. About to go into flower. 2 9lb hammers at 2 feet tall lst'd and still have another month of veg.

the bigger the plant the more roots the larger the buds. More roots more fruits . My plants are in 10 gals and finish 5 feet. Some planta take up a 3x3 and some a 4 x4.

if you got better results. You probably just got better at growing that strain. Every strain takes a few batches to adapt to its environment as well.

Yes I agree with most of your comments and I am only going from my own experience........but ......a five ft plant that has been lsted fro the start.......I just can't picture it......and as far as the op is concerned.......place your hand under your light until it feels uncomfortable then move it down until it feels comfortable this will be your desired height.....

a 5 foot lst just takes longer to veg. Unless you top late and go for an even canopy of tops. (cutting back to make even)
