pics of you hood would help also what size venting tube it will take 4,6,8 inch and what size the tent will vent holes are 4,6,8 inch heat rises so if yout tent has vent holes on the top of it i would use that for exaust and if it has hole on the side would be the intake its better to pull the heat out rather then blow it out so the fan u use should be on the exaust side pulling the air out of the tent

I had the same setup 600w hps/mh and 4x4x6.5 tent. I cooled the 600 with my 440 cfm exhaust fan filter combo(outside my tent) attached to the hood with a 2 ft duct constantly pulling the air from around the bulb cooling it , it worked great. I also had a duct running from a window ac to drop the night temps(optional). Good Luck.

Happy Growing.

Hey buddy..

i did a recording of my setup because alot of whats said can get a little confusing.. im a begginer grower and i had a problem like yours with heat too.. and i found a cheap resolution to fix it.

im running a cooltube with a 6' inline can fan. which is connected to ducting which leads out of the tent, out of the room which the tent sits in and into the roof.. thats the only way you can reduce the heat.

the trick is to allow the heat to escape the tent and out of the room which will drop temperatures.
and also make sure you have an inline fan which brings in cool air into the room also.

check out my video.. in total i spent $120 on my fan, cooltube and ducting along with the flange which the ducting is attached to in the ceiling.

p.s make sure you have a fan inside your tent oscilating also it helps bring temps down a few degrees.

enough said... i hope i have helped the mariujana growing community ;)

Hey man thanks for this post, I was looking for exactly that for the last couple of hours and then POP, there it was! I am converting to a cool tube set up soon and was looking for ways to set up ventilation. The video confirms exactly what I was planning. +REP

Anytime brothers! :) videos are so nuch easier to understand then text.. Which is prob why im a youtube junkie.

I learnt my setup from the greenman on youtube. Search "how to grow weed" on youtube and look for a vid with a man with a greenface. I copied his setuo except I added a cooltube.
