How the fuck do I clean a pipe

So my budy sold be his metal pipe a few days ago, and It reallt needs to be cleaned (Which is gonna be a bitch cuz I don't have any extra screens for when I'm done.

I'm used to smoking via joints/can, so help a brother out?

rubbing alcohol will work. I put my pipe in a ziplock and shake then let sit overnight. The next day i jst use a paperclip to clean out any extra left. Then u want to wash it. U can also try boiling the pipe, but the resin gets all over the pan. If u got a headshop around they also have specialty solvents for pipe cleaning. Good luck.

Put it in a ziplock bag, add rubbing alcohol and then a couple tbsp of epsom salt - shake, shake, shake. Not sure what the chemical reaction is called, but it will clean out pipes or vap whips very well.

There is no chemical reaction, it's just salt in alcohol, because at room temperature salt isn't soluble in alcohol. It just helps clean your piece, the way 420 cleaner, or even just an exfoliating face cleanser has the little beads in it.

Which is why I would recommend getting sea salt, the kind that comes in its own grinder.

I meant to ask, does salt and alcohol work on metal the same way it works on glass?

Will the rubbing alcohol and epsom salt thing make it taste wierd after words?

EDIT: ALSO, I don't know where Epsom salt came from but DONT USE EPSOM SALTS. I tried it and it didn't do a thing (wasn't paying attention when I was looking for rock salt, I was baked lol), either use table salt or rock salt works best.

i was just thinking tho, salt, water and metal pipe; could cause some rusting. i dont know. id just scrape the damn thing, but i smoke poop resin when in need, so.....

I use the epsom salt/alcohol (and shake like shit method) all the time on my vap whip, works great. I just rinse in hot water afterword to get rid of the stuff & sparkly clean.

Or $10 for pipe soaker that's reusable.

Hi guys, new here. I've got a dirty pipe as well and i was thinking about the rubbing alcohol and salt. Is the salt necessary? can i just use the alcohol? I sorta wanna let the alcohol evaporate and keep the resin .

I remember the grunge off from back in the day and it was expensive as shit. go to home depot and get a gallon of Simple green for 10 dollars. I use acrylic clear bongs and this cuts grease like a mfer and rinses clean with no taste. This is just as easy as the grunge off and you can let it soak to loosen if its bad. In my clear bong I can normally just spray it full strength after I empty the bong and swish it around a bit and rinse, every now and then I use aquarium tube brush

Trust me on the Simple Green I have been smoking for over 30 years and have tried lots of things but simple green or even the gojo hand cleaners that cut grease work as well but they dont rinse out good and you can smell.

Salt with the alcohol is just to help cut through resin when you swish or shake it. In a bong it works... in a tiny pipe... how are you gonna swirl around a bunch of salt and alcohol to clean a pipe? Just use rubbing alcohol and hot water, put some in, shake a bit, rinse, repeat.

Here's the best way to clean a pipe, common sense.

Def just use some rubbing alcohol in a zip lock. Shake. Salt is just there to act as something jagged in the alcohol to help remove resin. Either way, with or without salt, you should be good. Just rinse thouroughly when you're done.
