so their altered crop can never be destroyed and will always repopulate the planet? simple as that. same reason you create it a herman, for more seeds, for more population.

at one point in time the guys at monsanto were trying to create terminator seeds with the govt, which would make seeds fertile! so the farmers would need to repurchase seeds everytime they wanted to plant something, and they would HAVE to buy from them (since monsanto basically owns the crop industry. they have a patent on soy bean, and i always wondereing why soy bean was such a low quality form of protein with tons of bad microbes in it. then i found out monsanto has a patent to alter it until 2014!) soy probably never was so shitty until they started fucking with it.

since monsanto was getting so much flak as a terrible, horrible life destorying crop company, guess what the leaders there did? they took over and now currently run our fda and part of our supreme court -_-

i dont believe in conspiracies, and i dont care about them. humans only have so much power.

i have no proof that humans invented it, so for your sake, ill say WE DIDNT. the creator made it that way, for whatever reason, even though when he started us off he made the perfect ratio of male to female which in turn products the perfect exponential of males and females.

"Potential products[edit] Terminator seeds

Main article: Genetic use restriction technology
Genetic use restriction technology, colloquially known as "terminator technology", produces plants that have sterile seeds. If put into use, it would prevent the spread of those seeds into the wild. It also would prevent farmers from planting seeds they harvest, requiring them to repurchase seed for every planting, although they also need to do this for hybrid seeds, because second-generation seeds are inferior, and in cases of patented transgenic seeds, where patent-holders like Monsanto enter into contracts with farmers who agree not to plant harvested seeds as a condition of purchase.
Terminator technology has been developed by governmental labs, university researchers, and companies, sometimes in collaboration and sometimes independently.[SUP][94][/SUP][SUP][95][/SUP][SUP][96][/SUP] The technology has never been known to have been used commercially.[SUP][97][/SUP][SUP][98][/SUP] Rumors that Monsanto and other companies intended to introduce terminator technology have caused protests, for example in India.[SUP][99][/SUP][SUP][100][/SUP]
In 1999, Monsanto pledged not to commercialize terminator technology, and has kept that pledge on its website to the present day.[SUP][97][/SUP][SUP][101][/SUP] The Delta and Pine Land Company intended to commercialize the technology,[SUP][96][/SUP] but D&PL was acquired by Monsanto in 2007.[SUP][102][/SUP]
"

"Many of Monsanto's agricultural seed products are genetically modified for resistance to herbicides, such as glyphosate, which Monsanto sells under the brand, "Roundup" - Monsanto calls these seeds "Roundup Ready". Monsanto's introduction of this system (planting glyphosate-resistant seed and then applying glyphosate once plants emerged) provided farmers with an opportunity to dramatically increase the yield from a given plot of land, since this allowed them to plant rows closer together.[SUP][59][/SUP] Without it, farmers had to plant rows far enough apart to control post-emergent weeds with mechanical tillage.[SUP][59][/SUP] Farmers have widely adopted the technology - for example over 90% of maize (Mon 832), soybean (MON-Ø4Ø32-6), cotton, sugar beet, and canola planted in the United States are glyphosate-resistant, as described in the GM crops article. Monsanto has also developed a Roundup Ready wheat (MON 71800)."

modified to be resistant to pesticides. great..

and look! they made seeds that CREATE the poison!

"As of 2009, the overall Roundup line of products including the GM seeds represented about 50% of Monsanto's business.[SUP][60][/SUP] The patent on the first type of Roundup Ready crop that Monsanto produced (soybeans) expires in 2014.[SUP][61][/SUP] Monsanto has broadly licensed the patent to other seed companies that include the glyphosate resistance trait in their seed products.[SUP][62][/SUP] About 150 companies have licensed the technology,[SUP][63][/SUP] including Syngenta[SUP][64][/SUP] and Dupont/Pioneer.[SUP][65][/SUP]
In addition, Monsanto invented and sells agricultural seeds that are genetically modified to make a crystalline insecticidal protein from Bacillus thuringiensis, known as Bt. In 1995 Monsanto's potato plants producing Bt toxin were approved for sale by the Environmental Protection Agency, after having approved by the FDA, making it the first pesticide-producing crop to be approved in the United States.[SUP][66][/SUP] Monsanto has subsequently developed Bt maize (MON 802, MON 809, MON 863, MON 810), Bt soybean,[SUP][67][/SUP] and Bt cotton.

the only thing that has been a lie was from you (every word you speak) and mrshim saying that a 400watt cfl puts out 6000 inital lumens. i have almost 12k with 177
watts.

also terminator seeds were meant to be infertile* i said fertlie, sorry.

i understand..it doesnt seem economical but its still better then buying bud i think

i got a bunch of regular seeds like 30, so im just planning on going through them with 12/12..try to keep them small and not too smelly. i had two of these regulars planted..but they were both male -_- they started showing me sex at 3-4 weeks in at 12/12 from seed. since it was a male, i broke it in half and it smelled spicy! RIPView attachment 2472428

i also stumbled on 3 acid seeds (grapefruit diesel) feminzed and two are in the ground right now. just poked through on the 7th. i got them with the purchase of a glass piece. mostly sativa.

if these are hermies ill be upset.

i made pretty good soil..nice and airy with some organic matter and im not going to overwater. yay! a concept i havent grapsed for some reason..

I was not aware that smell had any correlation with height and size. I thought it was dependent on strain and maturity of plant.

haha! i am just proud. when i look online for tomato plants at 4 weeks, most are a lot smaller, and only a few are bigger.

i have some good soil now. i have enough light. and i have 3 paradise acid seeds! (grapefruit diesel)

should be a good show!

kgp, what do you think the plant will yield? its tiny, but every part of it is a bud site. a gram? lol
Why are you wasting space hiding a tomato plant?

so i found a 10x loupe in my dads stuff. i checked my tichs today and theyre all milky looking! i guess ill wait till i see one starting to turn amber.

i see a lot of trichs on the bud leaves too (not the veg leaves)

why in the world would i trim these off and not smoke them?

is it a bad idea to mist during flower?
Had you done any reading, you would know that the Sugar leaves and popcorn bud are what most people use to make hash, butter and edibles, and also know that most everybody does not/ will not mist during flower thus increasing their chance of budrot.
P.S. Smoke leaves if you want.

thanks for the info. if i dont smoke my bud leaves, im gonna try and make hash. is there a noticeable difference when you use just ice and water vs alcohol?

Dude how old are you? Does your dad know you're growing? It seems like you're grabbing random stuff around your house to do this which is fine.. But it would explain why you cant get any new equipment, you dont have a job and are too young. I'm gonna guess 15..
The more and more I read along, I was wondering that as well.

I DO NOT KNOW IF HERMIES WERE CREATED BY HUMANS, BUT I ASSUME THEY ARE. please get off my back. i have not made a white lie about anything else besides that.

i would much rather buy a bunch of regular seeds, find a good mother and clone her for stable, strong genes vs a feminized male genepool.

You guys are arguing with a 15 year old, theres no point. If you remember at that age you think you know everything.

Holy fuck you're dumb. Lumen don't stack up shit stain. You can't take 30 CFL bulbs and add the lumen together. That's not how lumen works. I'm sorry, I was looking at the wrong bulb. There's no such thing as a 400w cfl. 400w equivalent yes, true 400w no. So I'll look at the biggest cfl available and compare it to another bulb of the same watt.

http://1000bulbs.com/product/4979/LU0200-0001.html

200w CFL 10,000 initial lumen
200w HPS 22,000 initial lumen
thats more like it. i still have almost 12k from 177 watts. :)

probably gonna buy a 400watt hps when i move out in the future

IDK, maybe I was taught wrong, but in order to "Learn", one should keep eyes and ears open, and mouth shut.
I don't remember arguing being in the procedure anywhere.
Kids now days man. They're a bunch of arrogant little shits. Can't tell them anything. They're going to go through life with their nose in the air and chest puffed out only to continually get knocked down. Some may learn, most won't. It's sad really.

Feeling the love in here lol.
Hermaphrodites are a survival tactic displayed in some of the most highly and rapidly evolving plants. It was happening long before we discovered it. That said sure, human intervention has certainly played a role in making it more prevalent in gene pools. We've also increased THC production 200+%. Good with the bad in my mind.

here we go, someone that actually might have some viable information.

do you have any literature that tells about this hermie trait, long before we isolated, poisioned or put plants under the knife?

i do listen and learn. all the things i know are from some great minds here, and a lot of great minds at grasscity. also, i read literature occasionally.
