There are so many LP's popping up that makes me wonder if they are gonna tank as fast as they seem to be starting up. They need to have buyers and I dont think there will be enough to stay in business very long cause of the costs to run business.

cause they are not getting any of my money

Hitting the nail on the head there I think. I imagine with in 2 years a lot of them will fold for that very reson.

Sadly, it will be the big boys that survive. I've been going to all the links provided within this forum and I am astonished at how quickly things like cloning houses and the like are so well established. Everyone is jockeying for position in the new multi-billion dollar industry. And now the Americans have shown up to assist Health Canada..we're fuckin' doomed now!

Vote with your dollars, while sharing what you learn about HC, smaller LP's will need to group together for survival.

Personally, I am very happy to see over 300 applications, the thought of this billion dollar vacuum being filled by big pharma was disturbing to me on many levels, many small LP's is the only way to keep big pharma in check and get the most out of cannabis for our communities, never mind the benefits to patients and cannabis itself.

I bet the number of applications is a bit disheartening for the 5 million dollar plus apps. How much are you going to have to sell your cannabis for, when your 100,000 sqft building is struggling to sell 10,000 sqft worth of marihuana, you better have deep pockets when new facilities are also being passed every month or so.

300 LP's... 30,000 patients, that is 100 patients each, or 15,000 grams per month, sounds just about right for a mom and pop with a few employees.

This will surely up the pressure for legalization too, by filling that vacuum with hundreds of voices, instead of just a few who can fight for the expansion of our "market place" through legalization.

I lean toward a big ZERO
and I will be happy to do my part in all of their failures....

  • 300 LP's... 30,000 patients, that is 100 patients each

There should be no bigger reason to shut the whole thing down than the transparency it shows....with the above statement......
There is no business model with medical marihuana but the program only makes sense, once they factor in the recreational side (which at last I checked was still Illegal)
I would say your future is very uncertain at best......and to hold the patients hostage in the mean time ,while waiting for the winds of change... is down right immoral......

When patients retain their constitutionally guaranteed right to produce in the constitutional challenge they will have even less potential "customers".

it does not matter if they are a big lp or a small one they will not get one penny of my money I like the crook down the street way more than I could ever like them the crooks never pretended to be on our side then jumped over to their side they have stayed true the whole time I've dealt with them and thats since 1972

From what I have read and heard, there are over 400 applications currently, with more coming in every day. Many are just dreaming, and will never get a license, but some will. Having low overhead costs and an additional source of income during the initial years will allow most smaller LP's to stay in the game. Some of the larger players have high payrolls and financing costs and may be the first to fall, especially if there is a price war.

By forming a collective group of smaller LP's, we could lower our costs on packaging, shipping, legal costs, etc. A group would also allow us to present a united front to Health Canada and the federal government.

I think Canadian clients will be happy to buy excellent quality, tested, clean medical marihuana at a fair price. Along with their medicine, they will receive a document that will permit them to have medical marihuana. If someone were to purchase "street weed" and got caught with it, their entire future could be at risk. I, personally, love to travel and would never risk doing something illegal that may prevent me from travelling and seeing the world.

Why don't we all form a collective and tell Harper to shove it up his ass?!? That's more of the united front I'd like to present.

I don't need my meds tested - I do a fine job all on my own. And where in the fuck are you travelling where you can take your "medicine" with you, except across this country? Last time I checked you still couldn't cross international borders with marihuana, medicinal or not.

At least the guy up the street is going to kiss me first.

Ask yourself this. How many "dispensaries" are a float right now? They seem to be doing very well, selling high priced, un tested, below average, black market product. It's your choice to grow your own, but there are still lots of people that can't. If you want to take a chance and keep growing, and breaking the law, that's your choice. Lots of people don't have that option( to grow ). I think LP's will do fine.

cheers itsme

MarijeJane I can not afford LP prices so I will be back on heavy doses of morphine so will not be able to travel any way if fact I will probably be dead so do not tell me I will be happy to buy your crap and I know many more patients who feel the same way. we have no future I got away with street weed for 40 years and will go that way again if I have to I would rather give my little bit of pension money to the crook down the street than to any LP

What would you do if new LP's came out with prices the same or lower than "the crook down the street"?

LOL if some of you think that 300 lp's will be licensed you are truly crazy beyond belief. A small handful at best. And they won't survive either. The feds will not shot down any running dispensaries. They have been running "technically illegally" this whole time and that won't change.

A patient can go to a dispensary and try what they want for $5/gram in person but you LP wannabees think that same patient is gonna use their money to buy unseen, untried, weed for $15/gram plus $15-$30 for shipping lol! Ya right like they can afford that.

Don't worry real patients will still be growing their own or will find a way to get good medicine without having to buy from an LP. No mom and pop LP's will be licensed. I'll wager whatever anybody wants on that one.
This is a corporate government money grab play. They have no time to fuck with small LP's. It's just clear common sense and you wannabees will all see that in the next few months. Then will watch you guys all rage against the machine like everyone else.
Very sad also that a lot of you wannabees have actually spent a lot of money on trying to get a site ready for Health Canada. Good luck trying to sue them after they say no to you and now have your address and info of everything about you and your location.

If you wannabees were deep in the game with the medical community and the government you would know a lot more than you do so in a bit of a way I kind of feel sorry for so much naivety I see here on this part of the forum but at the same time it's like get your heads out of your asses.

true, but the majority of dispensaries get their product from licensed dg's or ppl's now, so it's a quasi legal source of mmj. Where will they get the product after April 1? 100% from the black market! no more grey area.....they will be supporting organized crime! How can authorities stand by, with their blatant disregard for the law?

you think dispensaries will still be selling mmj at $5/g when the supply dries up? The market is so flooded right now with DG / PPL's trying to dump their "medicine" .

where you getting your numbers from $15/ gram? From LP. That will be the reality for dispensaries when their supply runs out, and have to turn to the black market.

cheers Itsme.

What would you call Peace Naturals? They are quite small and amateur.

What is the difference between a LP and a DG?

Any LP would be crazy to not support personal production rights, its absolutely criminal to take away our rights to grow for oneself.

How and why are LP's being vilified for trying to provide meds for patients who need it? Many will have affordable prices.

If you need to and can grow your own, otherwise designate a friend or peer or use an LP, know your source.

Why would an LP support people growing their own? They want the least amount of producers as possible, I would consider this close to a monopoly , which is illegal in Canada.

When criminals write the laws and take away rights and freedoms of patients who have and always will grow their own then they (the government) are breaking the laws they once wrote themselves. As this is in court right now you have no accuracy to your statement because it is still unsettled.

Also if you think the "majority" of dispensaries get their medicine from licensed dg's etc you are also completely blind. I don't know where you gather your knowledge from but I can tell you for fact that in at least in BC and Ontario that that is not the case. Since marijuana has been grown and ingested since it was discovered it has been supplied around the world to both recreational and medicinal patients. If you think that dispensaries only sell (or the majority) only sell products bought from 'current health Canada approved supplier's' then yes you are completely in the black about how things really are. AND AGAIN that is void anyway because whether they get it from the black market or a currently licensed grower that doesn't matter in the eyes of the law. It is the same in the eyes of the current written laws of Canada.

You don't get how real mj advocates don't give two shits about what the corrupt government says about who should have access to mj. And if you do give two shits about what they say then you my friend are in the minority in the "real" mj compassionate community.

Organized crime. Give your head a shake. We are talking about the medicinal community. Not recreational drug suppliers from the underworld. Good god some of you are so dramatic lol.

The mj supply will never dry up from 30,000 patients accross Canada who a percentage of them are recreational users anyway. The mj supply has never dried up in Canada and never ever will.

Ya your right my numbers are a bit wrong on the LP's lol I should have said that minimum orders are $90 plus shipping from Peace Naturals lol unless they through in shipping thanks to their compassionate souls lol NOT. Try to afford that if you are a real patient who needs constant supply of medicine.

What you don't seem to get or a good portion of you anyway is that there are real patients out there who need mj. Not just phony recreational users who got their paperwork during Health Canada's massive brain fart they had over the past few years.

What will happen when some compassionate growers start supplying to real patients at a non profit? That will fuck you LP's over eh? Good luck LP's. Real patients can see through the bullshit and know how to read between the lines.
