How many led's?

I mentioned in another thread that I bought my first led's for my mother plants. I have been amazed at the lack of heat.
So, I have been looking at strip lights. Specifically the mars hydro fc 8000. I recently purchased a 5x9 gorilla tent. Now I am considering 2 fc-8000 or 6 fc-3000's. The Fc-3000's have additional 730nm and 380nm diodes that the fc-8000 does not have. With 6 fc-3000's that should have better coverage than just 2 fc-8000's.

Total cost?

2 fc-8000's are, best price found, $817 each for 2. Total $1634+tax. Fc-3000's $329 each. Total $1974+tax. Yes it is $300 more for the 6 fc-3000's but they have added uv-a 380nm, and 730nm far red led's that the fc-8000's don't have. Seems like a better over all spectrum and better light distribution for $300?

I want the best, sun like spectrum, I can get! Isn't that what we are all looking for inside? If I am spending $1000+ on lights, not trying to be an ass, but I don't give a shit if it is an extra $300 for the best coverage.

I’m a fan of supplemental UV light. Keep the UV diodes off the $1k fixture size you can actually use it for a few years. Those UV diodes don’t last nearly as long.

I would go with multiple lights which will give better coverage in most applications as well as increased versatility.

I just got an Illuminar Illogic 8, with far red and UVA and I'm digging it, my plants are loving it too. It fills up my room pretty damn good, and the coverage is great. With the controller, I'm into it for under $1100.

Take a look at OpticLED, they seem like one of the best lights on the market, and the price is not too extreme for what they offer.

Efficiency 3.0, adjustable spectrum with 3 drivers, UV & IR included, top quality components, 10 years warranty..
Check out Dr.Autoflower on youtube, he can offer you some discounts for OpticLED.

Thanks for all the input. I ended up buying 2 fc-8000 for a 5x9 gorilla tent. I went with the best led's at this time. Samsung is rated the best for a reason! Now to figure out the 660nm, 730nm strips and driver for the emerson effect. Thanks guys
