3 - What color spectrum, are them cfl bulbs?
4 - How are you going to grow, autoflower/bagseed/clone/fem?
5 - Are you really going to grow?

Lets keep these questions going huh... I think this way we will help ourselves get the info we need to help him!!! :eyesmoke:

I agree. I think some one should do a well layed out grow journal using CFLs for veg and flowering to help new people or people wanting to have a better idea on how to use them.

5 top 6 plants you can use 6 to 10 13 - 14w CFL rated at 6,500K or as close to that as you can for veg

flowering - you need 45w 2,700K CFLs to flower with. SOG is best to use when growing under CFL

8-12 CFLS. half 40w half 26w would do... but during flower you would want to make all the bulbs 2700k 40w... you can always get away with less, you will just have fluffy buds.

Hey zorr, nice start. Glad to see another CFL grower. Tried growing in soil 5-6 years back, was not very successful. When I started my 1st Aero-Hydro grow this past spring, I also use 10 CFLs, I kept mine burning 24 hrs /day from seedling to vegetation stage. Then during the flowering stage for 2 weeks I burned them 12/12, then 14/10, 14 hours off, 10 on. Not sure if it really helped starting the ripening stage of the flower or not. Some say it takes a week off your flowering stage, but less yield, others say stick w/ 12/12 for flowering to harvest. Pretty much your call.
If you can, get the larger CFLs and the light fixtures that have the clamp, this way you can locate your CFLs whereever onto your plants, at least a couple of inches away that is. Good luck

You are getting a lot of good info here...but a lot of conflicting info also. Read some of the CFL grows you will learn a lot. You can figure the kind of lights they have and the size of box/room and determine how many lights you will need.

I'm starting to see a major lack of motivation from people here on RIU.org to use the search options and to read previous posts that have been marked as either "stickyies" or "sub categories". ALL of this information has already been posted under the Indoor Growing sub-forum: CFL growing. If people aren't answering your questions regarding lighting, especially regarding CFL lighting, it is because the category and question has already been addressed in that sub-forum. Stop being so damn lazy and go read some of the forums. Nobody was ever promised that they would get immediate replies to their redundant questions regarding growing under all these different environments with a number of different variables.

Read a little bit people. That is the point of the forums. . . to provide information that can be searched for answers to your questions. These forums are not meant to be used to just throw out your questions anywhere you want, whenever you want. How are you ever going to get good at growing any great stuff if you're not willing to research a little on your own.

I don't mean to sound rude or harsh here. It's just. . . if you're a newbie to growing. . . at least show some desire to learn to do what you're doing by using some of your own trial and error, and reading up on some stuff a little before you start asking questions. I mean. . . how did you learn ANYTHING in school if you never bothered to read about what you were learning before you tried to put it into practice?

First of all I would like to address that I DID read the stickies, and as a matter of fact, I read all of them, and beyond that, I spend days scouring the internet to find the information I needed. Unfortunately I was unable to find a minimum requirement of wattage per plant, and asked for help. I have to say tho, the sarcastic remarks have been a tremendous help and as for the search bar, I have found it incredibly difficult to use and not of much help as 1,000,000 irrelevant topics instantly come up.

You obviously DIDN'T read everything then because I gave you the answer for your question in my first post on this thread. AND I got all MY information from the "stickies" in here as well as scouring the internet. I told you exactly what you need for 4-6 plants. Those were the minimum requirements. If you want more light, then add it. If you're seriously considering trying to bring up these babies as if you were their daddy, then at least learn how to translate a little bit of fuzzy math into your own logic and figure out that what you have isn't going to be enough. If you can't even provide enough lighting for your project of 4-6 at a time (as I had told you earlier by stating that you need 15-20 100W-150W equivalents) how the hell are you planning on paying for the energy consumption for them and the proper nutrients for them? Gee, stop doing everything "half assed" and try to put a little effort into your projects.

Or, you could just leave my thread. That sounds like the best plan
