Some pots are wider or taller. You have to measure the width of the pot. Or they should have the dimensions on the website.

I ready got the 7 gal pots though. Do you think i can grow 9 and use scrogg setup?
if you want to scrog, you could easily fill a 4x4 with one or two plants, if you want it to go quicker, you could use 4. scrog spreads the canopy open, no way you can fit 9 plants in a 4x4 all spread open.

you can do a dozen, but it's kind of silly. if you actually want to scrog, you can easily fill that tent pretty quickly with 4 plants and get a pretty good yield, if you have any ability at all as a grower. if you just want to throw a net in there to support shit, that's not a scrog. that's a trellis net to support shit. in scrogging, you train the plant to grow into the netting, trying to train new growth to fill in the open parts of the net, so you get maximum canopy exposure to the light. either wy is fine, but if you want a real scrog, i wouldn't try more than 4 plants at once. if you want to grow as many as possible and use the net for support, i still wouldn't go over 6. here, let me show you a picture.....this is a 4x8 room with an 8 foot ceiling. there are 6 plants and a small auto in it right now, and this is what it looks like... well, the way to get the most would be to run a Sea Of Green, or sog, you would have to get smaller pots, but the cheap plastic grow bags work great, and are very cheap, and reusable, at least 3 or 4 times. the 2 gallon size is good, they're not much bigger around than the 1 gallons, but taller.
you typically run a sog with clones, but you can start one off with seeds, while getting a good mother or two going. just run the same seeds, so they grow at least close to the same. you don't top, you veg just enough to get them about 12-14 inches tall, then flip them to flower. you typically cut most of the branches off, leaving only the main stem and the 2 healthiest looking branches. they grow quick, and never get very large. you can fit at least 16 in your 4x4, maybe 20. i'd run two mothers, maybe 3. take clones as soon as you flip the last batch, and you've got your next crop ready to grow by the time this one is done.
i will point out that most places have a plant count you're allowed, if you live in a legal state. this could put you well past that limit, so keep the rules where you live in mind.
if you don't live in a legal place, it can raise you from one set of penalties to the next, so look up your local laws and see if it's worth the risk to you.
scrog is a good method, but you have to veg longer, you want to have your screen at least half full before you flip. you can just start plants a little sooner, so the next one is ready when you want it.
