Plant needs to be running at peak with proper nutrition thruout grow - plant will mature and harden off all the way to end.

What other plant has nutrients “ cut off “ ?

Its a plant … it eats , it drinks , it matures.

I get that its a plant and needs to eat and drink. I just dont understand why everything is so controversial these days lol. This one says cut nutrients this one say not to. Im just gonna run it to the end then the hell with it.
Should i at least cut back the grow big a little or just full send?

Grow big is a highly concentrated veg ( high nitrogen) and can easily be overused. So much so it salts up fast.

You should be running a “ low nitrogen “ bloom nute on them right now. Starting around 1/4 - 1/2 strength of Tiger bloom or ( other ). Blooming plants want more PK over N ( since it will no longer be making leaf or branches).

Currently feeding 2 tsp grow big, 2 tsp tiger bloom. Should i just cut out the grow big as tiger bloom is 2-8-4?

Considering the plant is already starting to topple over with weight id imagine any week now.
Ultimately you can do whatever you chose but when you’ve grown in full recirculating hydroponics you begin to understand that a plants nutritional needs don’t just stop at the end.

it continues to need feeding but it’s requirements diminishes.

my fully ripe plants receive about the same nutrient strength that my seedlings receive in the beginning.

if you are Planning on “f-wording” here’s something I wrote to another user a few days ago.

heres what I’ve learned over the last 12 years.

when growing FULL RECIRCULATING HYDRO you monitor your reservoir for changes in ppm/EC and pH.

I’ve used soil once.

Been predominantly coco for 12 years with a stint doing full recirc hydro.

during the final few weeks you can track your reservoir changes each day.

As the plants begin to ripen their demand on nutrients diminishes. Meaning they take up more water than nutrients during the final few weeks.

this manifests itself in rising nutrient strength returning back to your reservoir.

You will be able to find an equilibrium during the last few weeks where your nutrient strength comes back almost the same that it went out.

my theory based on this is that plants are using less and less nutrients towards the end.

Personally I never use plain water in my grows!

However if I was using soil, the soil holds on to nutrients and releases them back to the plant so it would stand to reason that “leaching” during the final few weeks of a soil grow would not be as detrimental to a plant as it would to use plain water with a hydro grow.

However with this in mind that’s on the understanding that your plant is healthy and green when you begin to do this “leaching”.

I’m a NON FLUSHER though but by the time my coco plants are finished they are receiving approx the same nutrient strength that my seedlings were receiving.

Thank you. That was what i was looking for.

The reason your seeing so much mixed reading on it is because it’s been a debate for the last decade. So it’s fairly a new transition of practice. Your gonna have the rough old school riders that beg to differ
