how long can soil sit?

I made a big pot of soil and then waited over a month for seeds to put in it. Its just been sitting in a tent the whole time. Do I need to worry about it sitting too long for bugs or mold?

just turn it a couple times...dirt don't go bad...soil don't spoil!
To expound on the good Dr.'s post - some folks actually age their soil to allow everything to get acquainted with each other; nutes, microbes, etc. You're golden.

if there wasnt mold on the surface of the soil, im sure its fine. There shouldnt be bugs either, unless their in the room you had your tent in. should still be good. i got pots of soil i keep outside and i use. no problems. since i switched to coco, i will no longer be using soil at all.

i think brimck's confusion was your use of the conditional. By implication, if there was mold on the surface, your answer would be different. otherwise it would be grammatically superfluous to begin with the conditional "if."
