How far we've came :(

Having sat through another one of Obama's rare press conferences this afternoon, I found myself longing for leadership of the past. Obama's pre-written talking points parsing words to justify past ridiculous pre-written statements as he simply points fingers at his opposition is a sad state of affairs IMO. It's really hard to believe how far politics have fallen in just my short lifetime :(

You think that Reagan's remarks weren't scripted? He was a professional actor with training in his craft. I cried when Old Yeller died, but put away the tears when I found out that he was healthy and hale the whole time.

LMAO Reagan was a sincere and genuine man that we laughed with, not at. That was my point ;) Obama simply defends or promotes his politics through adversarial means. As leadership is clearly absent in a court room, we need a leader, not another fucking lawyer in this country IMO.

What is laughable? Besides the fact we have a population of 300mil+ and our last two presidents I would not hire to run
a Walmart, let alone the worlds largest economy.

Really? I'd go as far back as Reagan, if not farther.

Nixon's price controls come to mind ;)
I'm semi settling on FDR. Honestly they all have severe issues. It's sad when you can't look back on a single president in history and say "Yeah I'd support him". I do like Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln though.

Have to agree with GOD HERE (even though I'm an atheist).

Our elected officials have been pretty terrible for quite a while.

Obama has been particularly bad on marijuana issues though

I think the Presidents are bad because the government has fundamentally become a great agent of mega-business. Since that level of business sees us as only expendable workers or consumers, the government fundamentally disfavors the little guy. And the medium guy.
